Appearance: because this is important and doesn't fit in Personality well
Hippocrates is a young kid of around 12, but has begun his way into becoming a teenager already, his voice not the squeaky one might expect from an 12 year old, but a somewhat deeper one that's still somewhat squeaky but hard to tell apart from a transitioning teen's voice. As well, he's grown to be lanky and 5'1-2" through the magic of growth spurts - and as such, can be really easily mistaken as a transitioning teen, for certain. He typically holds himself to a standard of kind formality that means he tends to stand up completely straight, and it's rare that he slouches unless outright exhausted. He has a color theme of dark olive-to-forest greens; dark green eyes, as well as a v-neck and t-shirt underneath, for practicality - he can take off the v-neck, should it get blood on it from handling a patient. (If you hadn't guessed, he typically doesn't wear formal doctor wear unless preforming medical procedure.) He avoids wearing shorts in favor of long pants, and typically wears sandals instead of closed toe shoes, more out of habit then any conscious decision. After all, they're very easy to take off. His hair is back and shaggy, and it's atypical that it ever gets styles - he prefers it messy and most likely wouldn't even style it for a formal event.

Personality:
Hippocrates does not act like one would expect an 12 year old to. This isn't because he's some whimsical sort of 2000 year old in a young child's body; rather, Hippocrates has been forced to grow up very quickly, simply because of his profession and how his world works. However, it's worth noting that he's been somewhat stunted because of this; he has some trust issues, doesn't understand how to treat adults (although this is greatly offset by the fact that he's kind and polite to everyone), and in general is still emotionally a kid, even if he disguises it with a mixture of his manner and his knowledge. He doesn't appreciate being looked down upon for his child status, due to the fact that he never got that sort of treatment in Gallifrey, and will heavily object to any attempts to reason that 'YOU ARE A CHILD THUS YOU SHOULD NOT FIGHT/WORK/ETC, AND INSTEAD GO TO SCHOOL'. Hippocrates knows things - he's learned everything he knows from books. As such, he's an expert about medicine, though he specifically believes in the teachings of his original self, Hippocrates, knows quite a bit of latin due to medical terminology, and is an expert at English - he has a huge vocabulary that severely outpaces many kids his age, which is a given, since he reads complex texts and comes out with full comprehension. He knows basic math, but doesn't care very much about more complex forms of it - just enough to manage his own funds and the hospital's paperwork. He knows point blank nothing about trig, calculus, or even geometry - only basic maths and some bits and pieces of algebra.

Hippocrates' firm belief in and reliance on his original self's teachings - Hippocratic medicine, as it's simply put - has manifested itself as him having a perpetual 'bedside manner'. Hippocratic medicine tells a doctor to be kind, gentle, and to keep the patient relaxed and rested. These are things that Hippocrates has taken firmly to heart in his bedside manner; much of the time that he talks to people, he tries to emulate those teachings. As such, Hippocrates has picked up the bad habit of withholding bad news - he won't reveal things that he knows will worry people unless he feels it's absolutely necessary. He's also picked up some bad habits that don't fit in with the concept of Hippocratic medicine, as well. In a world full of young violence and super strong patients, he's learned very quickly that if people won't see eye-to-eye with him, it's best to force them to do what he says. This wouldn't be a problem if he didn't, from his amount of medical knowledge, know vital pressure points to force people to (relatively peacefully) do as he says. He reasons it as being the 'lesser of two evils', the other being the patient running around like an idiot and getting themselves hurt worse. Hippocrates is still a frail young guy, for certain, and he really isn't tall enough to do this to adults as well as he can other kids. Still, he's very much aware of anatomical pressure points, and has a habit of forcing his way if it's "for the good of their health". As a side note, he's not very good at delivering jokes, notably, and prefers sarcasm if he needs a way to cheer someone up. Something to keep in mind is that, despite his deviation from Hippocratic properness, he cares about the wellbeing of everyone he knows even slightly personally and can put himself in danger in order to protect them at the drop of a hat - especially if it's his fault they're being attacked at all. Given that he's a frail 12 year old who focuses more on finesse then any sort of resistance to damage... this can end very poorly.

However, the idea that he'll force things with violence helps to explain Hippocrates' personality under the demeanor he puts up - he's very much an emotional child, and while he tries to restrain himself from emotional outbursts, he's very capable of tears or rages - although he'll never do a 'no good reason' tantrum. He's heavily driven to complete his goals, and the frustration that comes from failing to complete them - or be stopped from doing so - can provoke him like no tomorrow. He does try and be an adult and verbalize his problems, but if he's not convinced to stop then he just plain'll react with the polite equivalent of 'Won't stop, can't stop". If you're being an obstacle and won't listen to what he's trying to say, he will flat out ignore you and do it anyway. In the same vein, he has a list of "what dos" to follow in the face of adversity - one, talk. Two, go around. Three, fight it. Generally he won't approach the third unless there's any other option, but sometimes he'll have the tendency to make a shortcut right to it - for example, if he feels as though someone won't listen to reason about their injuries, he'll make an effort to outright knock them out via his anatomical knowledge so that he can force treatment. On an entirely different note, Hippocrates is incredibly hard to insult while in his bedside manner, and sometimes even out of it. He has no attachment to his gender or concept of what's manly or feminine, due to many of his friends being way outside those roles, and won't understand shots at his manliness or femininity. He also generally doesn't hold insults against people, especially if they're really shitty ones that are obviously not at all thought out, and would only ever really be provoked if he was already frustrated/pissed/etcetera. He's had 11-12 year old kids sling terrible insults at him when he incapacitates them and ties them to their beds. He's not phazed by this point.

All in all, Hippocrates is a young man with a sophisticated form of speaking and writing, a body and mind that don't agree with his actual age at all, and a very childish way of reacting to things in the way of getting what he wants under a shell of maturity, kindness, and properness. Some random notes would be that he definitely does play the part of mature, but defuses the pompous air he'd generate otherwise by leaving his hair messy and his clothing relatively casual. He's got a thing for sweets, no matter how childish he thinks that is, and is way happy to get his hands on anything sweet. He hates being treated like a burden or some kind of weakling just because he's a kid, and will do everything in his power to avoid being treated that way. Generally, in combat, he prefers long range weapons, with a preference towards crossbows, those being the ones he knows well - though he's a pro with a properly sharp scalpel.

Game Specific:
Arcana: Empress
Justification:
There are multiple parts to the Empress arcana, as properly detailed here.

Hippocrates' personality expresses many of them, and as time goes on, through character development, may grow to express even more of these qualities. His heavy focus on the natural side of growth and cures due to his belief in Hippocratic medicine is in touch with the Empress's association with nature at work; he believes heavily in health (being a doctor) and understanding and caring for all other people within his power. Similarly, when enraged, he tends to become a force to be reckoned with: a young child's furious, sometimes unreasonable form of response when properly aggravated. Many of the traits he might develop in growth would be mothering, abundance, understanding of the value of senses shared amongst people - all things he lacks but has the potential to grow into.

Samples:
First Person Sample:
[There's a young man who looks to be about 13-14 on the screen, giving a slightly confused, pretty formal look! Say hi, everyone.]
Does, perhaps, anyone have proper information on where I am and what is going on at the moment?
Better yet, does anyone know of a world called Humanitas?

[He looks like he dislikes even saying the name. He gets the joke and it's not funny, world namers. :|]

Whether or not you do, my name is Hippocrates, and I appear to be in a strange room of what I must assume is a hotel, and have found an envelope with a key and a card inside.

[Excuse him, raising up the envelope before setting it down and lifting up the key and his card to be properly viewed.]

Thank you for any help you can provide.

[He gives a small, polite smile before he goes to set down the key and card and switch off the display. he doesn't know anyone here how does he interact fdsa]

Third Person Sample:
It took Hippocrates a few seconds to realize that he wasn't in his normal bed.

It only took himself flinging himself out of bed and stepping towards the window to realize he wasn't exactly in Kansas anymore.

In processing that he was in an incredibly unfamiliar place that couldn't even remotely exist on his world, he also successfully processed the people who were most definitely not 12 walking along the streets. That was most definitely new. He quietly took a step back from the window - quickly closing the curtain in the process - before turning back and beginning to take in the room itself. It had little to nothing in it, except... a strange envelope. This impromptu discovery led to the tearing open of an envelope and him examining the contents with a curiousity that he'd probably only lose with age. He flipped the card over in his hands before settling it down onto the ripped open envelope. He could find someone to ask about that later. Probably. He'd seen people, after all.

It was at that point that he took inventory of himself. He was in casual clothes - despite remembering putting on pajamas - and a quick search of himself turned up absolutely nothing that he remembered. He didn't even have the wallet he'd gotten a while back, after his "father" was exiled, to keep track of his identification and funds. What a load of crap.

However, what did turn up was equally confusing as hell. He'd suddenly found himself with a phone he didn't even remember having, with a contact list that consisted of basically nobody he knew, with several applications he didn't even remotely comprehend the meaning of. However, there were a lot of things to push and look at.

And so, he did what came naturally to a young guy like him.

He fiddled.
