Archer ✖ Fate/Stay Night

PlayerInfo:
Nickname:Lunar Rabbit
Age:21
Personal LJ/DW:[personal profile] lunarrabbit
Method of Contact: AIM: lunahrabbit
Characters Played: N/A; dropping Servant Caster

Character Info:
Name: Servant Archer
Age: Unknown, appears to be in late twenties
Canon: Fate/Stay Night
Pull Point:Post UBW

Background Info:
History: Link to the wiki article about him.
Personality: Archer is not a nice person. His view point is cynical, and it's not hard to see why. Archer's history is one of betrayal. Originally when he was younger, Archer desired to be a hero of justice. He strove with all of his might to live up to that ideal. One day in order to save a vast number of people, he made a deal with the world. In return for power, he would eventually serve the world after his death. Eventually after fighting to end a war, he was judged as having been the mastermind behind it and was executed.

After his death he was forced to serve as a Counter Guardian. Whenever there was a crisis, he was summoned and forced to end the crisis by whatever means necessary. Time and time again, he was forced to sacrifice one life to save another. He abandoned his ideal of a hero of justice, and he carried his work out with a ruthless efficiency.

However despite the fact that he became cynical and swore to forsake his ideal of becoming a hero of justice, he ultimately could not shake it. He is willing to warn enemies of an accidental blow coming their way, as seen in his fight with Caster. He's still willing to fight to the death if it means he can save someone. He has no problem throwing his life to the side if it means he can save even one person.

Archer is a man without limits, and if he has them then he doesn't know them. In order to acheive a goal, he'll take of any safety measure and do what it takes. In magecraft, pushing oneself tends to destroy the body. While Archer is only in his late twenties, it's evident that pushing himself to his limits with magecraft has taken its toll. Once fair skinned and with red hair, his skin has become tan and his hair bleached white. His body stands as a testament of how far he was willing to pursue his ideals.

Archer doesn't hold qualities like honor in very high In fact he often derides those that carry honor and pride into battle. To Archer, the end result is all that matters. When he was trying to live up to his ideal of being a hero of justice, he gladly sacrificed his honor and dignity if it meant that he could save more people. To him pride, honor, and dignity are all things that can lead to death on the battlefield.

Game Specific:
Arcana: Judgement
Justification: Archer is the end result of Shirou's original pursuit of a hero of justice. While originally discontent with how his path ended, via crazy time paradox he comes to a certain satisfaction that his original self won't follow the same path. He's guilty that he couldn't live up to his ideal. Stagnation in that he cannot progress.

Samples:
First Person Sample: [The feed shows a smug Archer, and in the background Saber can be seen sleeping peacefully in a bed.]

You know, I think I know quite a bit about swords. I've fought with them for my whole life. I've studied them time and time again. I've seen beautiful works of steel, but for some reason I think this Saber of flesh and blood is more beautiful than all of them. What do you all think?
Third Person Sample: Archer gazes at the machine of flashing lights and sounds. Two screens display a barrage of neon arrows, each swiftly descending to their natural conclusion. It seemed simple enough. Stomping on the correct switch at the right time in tune with the arrows would award points.

"Well? What do you say?" Lancer taunted, "You're not going to give up without even trying, are you?"

"Ha. As if such a machine could scare me," Archer replied, leaping onto the platform. Lancer of course chose the most difficult song imaginable, and suddenly they were off. The game left no room for error, but he was never one to consider such mistakes. Each step is measured with expert precision, and the arrows fall at a blistering speed. His legs were a blur, but so was his opponents. Lancer isn't one to let up his assault on the dance pad, and neither is Archer. While to any normal eye, the arrows might move at a blistering speed, to Archer's they were slow. He has seen attacks swifter than these. By the time the song is finished, Archer has a perfect combo. So does his opponent.

"Hm," Lancer muttered, viewing the results, "You want to go a second round?"

"Hmph, as if I'd let you get away that easily," Archer said with a light chuckle."
