Age: 24
Canon: Mirror//Eyes (OC canon)
Pull Point: Before the route split

Background Info:
History: So Mirror//Eyes has a number of different routes and possible endings, and I need to actually make it but Blue Moon comes first. There's a prominent route split after the yellow Core Gem, and because Mila comes just before then, I'll detail all of them. But first, backstory!

Mila's world is an Earth surrounded by a ring-like structure of colonies and machines. She herself came from one of those colonies and was a bright kid, a gymnastics champion, and very good at being where she wasn't supposed to be. It started when she was a child and her older brother kept picking on her; tired of her parents not doing anything about it, she snuck into his room, stole his hidden stash of unsavoury magazines, and blackmailed him for years. This was the beginning of Mila's flagrant disregard for rules and her decision to do things based on two factors: how much of an impression they would make and how fun they would be.

After making the necessary grades for a student exchange, partially because she was smart and partially because she may or may not have broken into a teacher's office or two and copied answer sheets, Mila went to high school on Earth. For the first little while, things were normal. Then she attended a sleepover where one girl was dared to steal a teacher's car and chickened out. Mila got one of her bad ideas. She stole the thing herself a few days later. Not having anything to do with it nor anything against the car's owner, she decided to make some use of the stunt and park the thing on the roof of the school. How? She has a way with these things. The mysterious car on the roof was the talk of the school for months, and Mila was only encouraged to top her last stunt. After all, she wasn't doing anything wrong, right? Right? Of course not.

The ridiculous stunts continued through her post-secondary education, where Mila couldn't stay anonymous for long, and after a few more pranks, her identity was exposed. All she saw from this was the pressure of everybody knowing who she was and being able to look down on her if she messed up, so she became more and more reckless. One day, strapped for cash and really wanting a certain outfit in a store window, she took a bet from a classmate for money and ended up breaking into a condemned building. (Yeah. She does this a lot.) Unfortunately, that was the day of the Black Rivers.

Nobody quite knew where they had come from. That day, colossal monsters -- later called Black Rivers -- rose up from the water and descended upon the Earth. Though the armies managed to fight them off, the cities were in chaos and a lot was destroyed by the time that first small wave was wiped out. The already-trashed building collapsed when a Black River rampaged through the city; Mila was already inside. Discovering a strange red jewel in the trashed, gutted building is the last thing she remembers before the roof collapsed on her. It felt like she was being crushed to death -- except there was a strange glow, and when she lost consciousness, she had a feeling that she wasn't going to die.
Mila was put in the hospital for a long time, and eventually released with many of her bones now mechanically reinforced. After this she stopped taking every stupid challenge that came her way, but certainly not all of them. She ended up graduating late thanks to the hospital stay, but completed her engineering program anyway, and went out searching for something to do with her life. Thankfully, something fell right into her lap. Mila had emerged from the hospital into a world where Black Rivers were appearing all over the planet, with a lot of people moving either inland from the coasts and islands or off of Earth entirely. Some groups, however, were working to do something about it. From an inland base in the middle of nowhere, Trinity Gift, founded by two researchers named Hope and Logan Yasakani, had developed weapons -- giant robots called Mirror units -- powered by strange jewels they'd uncovered, called Core Gems, which bonded to the units' pilots and also had their own powers aside from operating robots. The red jewel Mila had uncovered in the abandoned building looked just like one.

Logan Yasakani had the jewel tested and deemed that it was the red Core Gem of love, but that for some reason, it wasn't working; it had bonded to Mila but appeared to have lost all its power. The official story was that Mila's Core Gem was a decoy and the group was still looking for the real one. Unable to become a pilot, Mila signed on as an engineer developing the Mirror units and working on them when they came in from the field. She did meet up with and sort-of-befriend the two existing pilots, Saph Yasakani (Trinity Gift's heiress, with the indigo Core Gem of kindness) and Brandon Eis (a struggling former farm kid who joined up to pay for his medical bills, with the orange Core Gem of honesty). Then one day, a third pilot showed up -- Elian Verdant, who had walked right into the search for the green Core Gem of courage, ended up carted around by Saph while she fought Black Rivers, and bonded with the thing.

Mila had a direct hand in developing Elian's mech, Mirror Third, to his strengths -- not that even he knew what those were, and at first, his teammates had to keep him from throwing the spiked weapons. They all got to know each other and things were good for a while, but soon a new enemy emerged -- Ghost Seven, a group of humans in machines like the Mirror units who appeared to be siding with the Black Rivers. What was more, they already had a Core Gem. The route split occurs when the two groups clash over another Core Gem in their second meeting.

In Ruby Blue, Saph's route, the yellow Core Gem of joy goes to Trinity Gift, and Mila and the rest of the engineers are put to work designing a weapon to go with it: the White Flame, a giant. freaking. ship. Logan and Hope jointly bond to the gem at the same time so they can both operate the thing, and they set up a plan to move on a structure they've discovered that looks like it has something to do with the Black Rivers' appearance. However, this is cut short when, deprived of the yellow Core Gem, Ghost Seven uncovers the blue one. The blue Core Gem of peace has mind control abilities, and they put it to use to get the guards to let them into Trinity Gift's home base. They steal Mirror First and kidnap Saph, its pilot. The next time anyone sees Saph, she's being made to work for Ghost Seven as their second pilot. Their first pilot, Jarlan Septimus, ragequits and joins Trinity Gift. He explains that Ghost Seven has given up on the Earth and sees the Black Rivers as nature's way of telling its people to get out. Elian figures out that the real Saph is still somewhere in there by the way she's acting and they rescue her, putting her back in her right mind. They then destroy the Black Rivers' genesis structure to prove that it's not worthless to fight back. Mila doesn't have much to do with the plot in this route, aside from getting her closet raided by a brainwashed Saph.

In Joyful Doll, a route centered around a mysterious girl named Serena, Ghost Seven gets the yellow Core Gem. Mila has a little more to do here: she develops upgrades to the Mirrors and figures out that the mysterious new Ghost Seven pilot's abilities mean that the yellow Core Gem heals. This pilot turns out to be Serena, and Elian et al convince her to join Trinity Gift instead. In retaliation, Ghost Seven tries to steal her back, fails, and captures Elian instead. Serena, who's always been hanging in the back as the healstick, goes full-on Combat Medic and busts him out. They wonder if they'll be fighting forever, but the members of Trinity Gift try to reach out to the members of Ghost Seven, saying that the Core Gems chose both groups to defeat the Black Rivers. The leader of Ghost Seven rejects that theory, saying that the Core Gems are just tools, and they must have appeared at the same time as the Black Rivers for no other reason than to help them clear people off the planet. Trinity Gift says that, if that's the case, they'll use them as well to prove which side is right. They fight and, naturally, TG wins. Oh, and there's a bunch of tragic Serena backstory stuff in there, but we need to know about Mila.

She has her own route! In Eyes, naturally, she gets to do a lot more. After Ghost Seven gets the yellow and blue Core Gems, Trinity Gift decides that, instead of attacking mainly Ghost Seven (as in Joyful Doll) or mainly the Black Rivers (as in Ruby Blue), they'll fend off whatever attacks them while trying to look into why things are the way they are. They discover the Black Rivers' genesis structure and destroy it early on, and Ghost Seven is frankly ticked. After a brief period of peace, Black Rivers begin to appear again, stronger this time. Secretly, Mila designs and submits the plans for another Mirror unit, but this one is meant for herself. She also studies the Core Gems to try and figure out what could have happened to her Core Gem. In a scene that's required to get the good end, Elian discovers her and she admits that her "decoy" Core Gem is indeed genuine, they discover that maybe the energy from the Core Gem is in her, and she starts having Mirror Fourth actually built. As in the other routes, Ghost Seven goes for the blue Core Gem, but this time, Trinity Gift gets it first. Thus, instead of sneaking into their base to kidnap one of their pilots, Ghost Seven storms the Trinity Gift base to take their research and weapons. They're mostly held off, but the research team and all their notes are taken. All, that is, but the hidden stuff Mila left to develop Mirror Fourth.

Eyes Bad End: Rocks fall, everyone dies.
Eyes Normal End: Trinity Gift's pilots make it in time to save most of the research team, and it turns out that Ghost Seven was creating new Black Rivers for fear of losing their goal. In what's supposed to only be an attempt to scare them, some of the engineers and scientists are tasered; Mila, being a cyborg, is killed by it. This activates her Core Gem, which, it turns out, had used up its power keeping her alive ever since the building incident. Mirror Third is rebuilt to use both the green and red Core Gems and Elian, supported by Brandon and Saph, defeats Ghost Seven, saying that going along with bad things because you think it's destiny is just being afraid, and what you really need to do is fight to save everyone.
Eyes Good End: Same as above, but Mila gets away and survives; Mirror Fourth is finished, built to work off the energy it gave her, and the four plus others defeat Ghost Seven.

I apologize for making you sit through all that.

Personality: Mila is kind of ridiculous, but not in the sense that someone who wears 80s-style neon sweats, refuses to shower and rants about the end of the world on street corners is. She's more akin to the crazy group of jocks you knew in high school who decided one day that they were going to steal the globe from the library and plant it in the cafeteria just because they could. She's friendly and easy to get along with, but a bit of a jerk, and you'll either see her as the life of the party or the bane of your life. She does crazy things to entertain people and/or to make her life easier. Usually, she comes off as normal (besides the way she dresses), and she sees herself as normal, too.

The thing about her, though, is that she's kind of immature. Maybe very immature. After being crushed by a collapsing building, Mila's better than she used to be, but she hasn't resolved to stop doing crazy things. If anything, she just has metal in her spine and has trouble getting through airport security, but that's not going to stop her from toilet-papering someone's house or installing a working shower on top of a building for the lulz. When someone challenges her for anything, Mila becomes determined (or crazy-obsessed, whichever works) to see things through to the end. If pushed far enough, she'll go berserk and lash out at whoever caused it. Usually, though, when you get her angry, she's just spiteful and no more violent than anybody else.

Mila is creative in some respects, but most of her crazy plans are actually things that someone else did or that she saw in a movie once, with her own input being adapting it to the situation. If someone else did it, it worked and she thought it was cool, expect Mila to try it out next time she gets a chance to do the same thing. (Fear the day she decides to crash someone's concert and steal the mic. She's terrible.) She's more practically intelligent; it's not the dumb ideas that she has that make her what she is, it's the inventive ways that she thinks of pulling them off. She also doesn't seem to take things very seriously, but she's deeper than she appears. She just doesn't want to depress people by existing, but make their lives and her own more entertaining.

She has no sense of taste, pops wasabi peas like popcorn, doesn't appear to have any shame whatsoever, and gives everyone she meets a ridiculous nickname (some more insulting than others). Oh, and white isn't her natural colour. It's pink. She bleaches.

Game-Specific:
Arcana: Judgment
Justification: Judgment reflects Mila's growth throughout her character arc, particularly in Eyes. She's stuck where she is because she's holding herself back, and the thing that's keeping her alive is also the thing that's keeping her from lending her power to the fight in ways other than developing other people's weapons -- though, in the end, she helps in both ways. This is brought on by Mila realizing that she's already helping a lot and that, if she still does want to fight as well as be an engineer, she can if she uses power that is literally in her. She thus avoids both death and the guilt over making a rare Core Gem useless, and she is able to further Trinity Gift's cause.

Background Info:
History: English patch site, Wiki article

(the following are spoilers for the story)

La's own personal history is full of sad memories. Her parents kept her locked up, and never paid any attention. Then an old man named Analye decided to take her off their hands. From there, her life got slightly better. She was still shut up inside, this time in the church basement with only a bed. But this time she also receives attention. He would read her books and other things. With time, Analye became her Pops, though never really her father. But Analye was also lazy, so eventually he drops her off at Blackiris's apartment. Despite his complaints, Blackiris ends up taking better care of her than the old man, He lets her take a bath, buys new clothes, and guides her around town. For the first time, La experiences something of a normal life. That is, normal as the City can provide, for only Mnemonicides and their Guests are allowed to live inside it. She remains hidden because she has no permission to be here.

When she has to go back to the church, Blackiris tells La she can come back to his place anytime, an offer which she takes up. Every day during evening hours she comes, to read his books. Until one day Analye mentions to Blackiris that he has a use for La. After that, she stops coming. Curious about her absence, Blackiris pays a visit. He meets with Analye, who reveals that La is an Omega, which is the most powerful Mnemonicide on the scale, even stronger than the top Alpha class. While those classes can only at best make sad memories go away for a long time (to hold back Psyche Corrosion, a type of depression that always inevitably leads to suicide), the Omegas take in all the memories into themselves.

It's for this reason that Alaye took her in, because he is an Omega himself: the legendary so-called "Alpha of Omegas". He planned to transfer all the sad memories he picked up into her instead. Naturally, Blackiris isn't pleased at the old man's plan, so Analye gives Blackiris a gun to shoot him with. But Blackiris cannot bring himself to pull the trigger and he runs away. Several days later, he returns to the church and finds La and Analye together. Too late, La's taken in all his memories and he dies, leaving La a crying mess hunched over Analye's body. Her hair has turned white from all the grief but she refuses Blackiris's offer to erase them.

(The story doesn't explain what happened from then on, but it's implied their memory of the incident was erased.)

Years later, Blackiris is given a house, and it's there he meets La, who is his new client. This kicks off the main story. La and Blackiris live together even though opposite-sex Guide/Guests are a no-no, where they get roped into Rook's schemes, take in a Guest who sneaked in illegally, and deal with underground terrorists.

After a month of this, La decides to start erasing his memories, revealing that Blackiris is her assigned client and not the other way around. But Blackiris refuses to forget. As he fights back for his memories, he remembers that La is the "kitten" he took in long ago and they kiss. After that, the two of them deal with Dexter and run away from the City. And it's from there that La stumbles into Prospero.

Personality: La has a pure heart, and is naturally curious about everything. From the moment she comes to live with Blackiris, she's always observing, interacting, and learning everything she can about anything. She's selfless to a fault, making sure she's never in the way, and trying to make other happy. When she finds a girl tresspassing the backyard, La at first is naturally hesitant, but warms to her when the girl says she's a Guest and leads the poor thing into the house. (Which also goes to show how naive she really is.) She even sleeps on the floor, so the girl can have her bed. (The house only has one bed, and Blackiris sleeps on the couch.) And she allows herself to get kidnapped in the place of a friend, even though said friend hadn't proven to be trustworthy at that point. In other words, she places others before her own safety, making her selfless to a fault. Blackiris is always reprimanding her about it.

For some, it's hard to see this. Her natural blank expression and short clipped speech can lead them to think she's cold. But it's just because La's observing them, wondering how to react to certain situations, as she has little social skills outside of books. As for her speech, it's something she inherited from her Pops (Alayne) who spoke the same way. She's also very straightforward, always saying what's on her mind, even if you don't want to hear it. She's quick to point out how not-nice Blackiris is, a "royal pain in the neck". For her part, she herself doesn't always seem to realize how strange she is to others, and often becomes self-concious when it's pointed out.

And again, La is very naive. She had to learn how to run a washing machine, and is unfamiliar with most things because of being locked away most of her life. She's stubborn about learning though, quickly learning how to cook and clean through trial and error. When she hears from Rook about a haunted mansion, she insists on going to explore, despite her obviously being scared. La insists on doing many things by herself, and even when she needs the help she'll refuse it until it's all but forced onto her, at which point she'll nervously comply. Much of this stems from her belief that with Pops (Alayne) gone, she has to endure anything now, instead of being selfish and crying. She holds his words to heart, repeating his mantras when going to sleep: "Rule #1. Know that you are you." This is a rule to keep her from being overwhelmed by the very sad memories she absorbed.

Throughout the story, La questions people's reasons for choosing to erase their memories. Because while the bad memories causing them pain are erased, so are the good ones to prevent triggers. La supports their decisions and never actively tries to convince them otherwise, but she wonders if they're not really running away from themselves. Herself personally, she would never want to have the memories she inherited from Analyne erased, no matter how painful they are, because they're all that remain of him. He mattered that much to her.

It's important to note, sometimes tears fall from her eyes, but it happens unconsciously. It's not because she's sad or depressed (at least, not always), but it's because she's carrying around a huge burden of other's memories.

Game

Specific:

Arcana: The Empress
Justification: La is very nurturing. Not long after she moves in with Blackiris, she insists on learning how to do the laundry and cook. With strays like Illina and Lip's puppy, she immediately took under her wing to look after. Despite being Blackiris's Guest, sometimes it seems she acts much like a Guide herself, trying to be steadfast and strong for his sake. She also represents the reverse aspects sometimes, being too easy-going and taken advantage of, due to her good nature and unsophisticated view of the world.

Samples:

First Person Sample: [The device comes on, showing a nervous girl with striking grey hair.] Um. This is how it works? Really? Good.

Hello. How do you do everyone? Looking for a friend. Blackiris. Has anyone seen him? He has black hair. Tall. Difficult personality. Royal pain in the neck. Ah. [She wipes away some tears that had formed.] Don't mind. I'm not really sad. It just happens.

If you find him. Please let me know. We came together. But somehow we got separated when I stepped off. [A nervous laugh.] Okay. Thank you. Bye. [The feed shuts off.]

Third Person Sample:

Personas. Shadows. Dark Hour. Church of Three. There was much to learn about this city of Prospero, including its dark underbelly. She had already been familiar with the concept of Personas, the "face" people wear for different people. And Shadows, the hidden unconcious feelings people had. An advanced Mnemonicide such as herself was required to read much on human psychology, though mostly related to human memory. This city appeared clean, not as much as the old city she lived in all her life, but still it was hard to believe it held such a dark shadow itself. Darker even than the supposedly "clean" city she came from.

It was all...intimidating? Definately not scary. She wasn't scared. Even if she was, La couldn't allow herself to be anyway. Blackiris wasn't around, and while that made her sad, she wouldn't let it overwhelm her. She knew better.

If there was one bright side, no one here seemed afflicted by the Dolor. That was good. If these Personas were a reflection of one's self, who knows what effect Psyche Corrosion could have on those things. Would they rust away? Or would they become violent? La really didn't want to know.

Character Info:
Name: Free
Age: Immortal looks in his 30's
Canon: Soul Eater
Pull Point: Just after freeing Asura

Background Info:
History: A member of the immortal clan, Free has made a legend for himself and proven to be a thorn in the side of even his fellow witches. He stole Grand Witch Mabaa's left eye, one of the most fearsome witches known. After she could not destroy him, she had him imprisoned for eternity.

He remained there for two centuries before he was freed. Having forgotten his name, he renamed himself "Free". Medusa was the one who set up his freedom, so he promised to serve her in repayment. His first job for her was to test Maka and Soul, attacking them to see what they could do.

Later, Medusa used the powers granted from his stolen left eye to help keep Shinigami, his students and staff contained. Also having him escort the black blood to Asura and using everything in his power to see that the mission succeeds. In the end, he does help in this goal even if things did not go as smoothly as planned.

Personality: Free is a seemingly random and manic witch. He seems a dim witted muscle type that takes for granted the fact he is immortal and makes many mistakes because of it. Free, though, is far more cunning than some suspect and can take the simple things for granted as he suffers few consequences. He wants to make a name for himself and will always aim higher than his reach.

Free will laugh, fight, and act without hesitation at times. Deciding on what he wants to do and following through even if it is likely to be a huge failure. Responding without thinking of the consequences of his actions. When imprisoned, he wanted to be the urban legend about digging your way out with a spoon. Only the prison had no spoons. When trapping his enemies, he boasted he could hold it an hour, when in truth he could only hold it 40-ish minutes.

His bragging nature aside, he isn't someone to take lightly. He is highly skilled in combat and in magic. He can combine these things to be a deadly force. Even if he neglects to worry about taking injuries, he can come up with quick plans to catch his enemies off guard or stall them when needed. Using all the power he has to bear towards his goals.

His compulsiveness has lead to him battling the most powerful witch, and swearing allegiance to the first witch that freed him. He looks out for his allies and faces his enemies with glee. In battle, he is a true monster, without regret. In life, he is whatever he wants to make of himself. He won't aim low though.

Game Specific:

Arcana: Strength

Justification: "In tarot readings, it can also represent creative or physical energy that needs to be or is about to be unleashed, sometimes out of desire to be recognized."
Free does great and amazing things, usually wanting to seem as impressive as possible.
The Strength Arcana suits him due to all the power he contains. Able to save it to be used against the right opponent. Though he is a witch, he also prefers close combat and using his physical abilities to aid in his attacks.

Samples:

First Person Sample:

[Free takes a moment to consider what he wants to do. He can't keep losing to those ice loving bastards.

He needed a new gimick, something he could use to even the odds.]

HEY! Everyone!

Ever hear of fire breathers? Well, today is your lucky day because you are about to witness one in action.

[He might as well have a crowd for his big experiment. This would either end well or end in tears.

Either way, he was not going to lose. Muttering to himself before beginning, almost like a mantra.]

Wolf, Wolves, Wolf, Wolves....

Third Person Sample:

Free strains at the cuffs around his wrists. All he manages to do is cut his wrists more. The smell of blood isn't strange to him, but the wounds that he receives are.
He should be snaping these things easily, look at how thin they are. He should be able to use ice magic too, but that failed him.

He glances at the rearview mirror as they shove him in the back of the trunk, he sees his face. Two normal eyes sit in his head. His tattoo still replaces his left eyebrow though. Everything here is strange, it's as if he is human!

"What the hell is going ON!"

Free shouts as the cop car pulls away.
_________________________________________________________________

Free sees the things drawing closer, surrounding him. He can't help himself, grinning so hard that he feels like his lips might just split. Spending all day without powers, without his true nature is taxing on the sould. This, though, this hour of darkness is enough to keep him going.

He looks forward to it.

Not even trying to make this fair, he transforms into a werewolf and howls. Tonight will be a night to remember.

Background Info:
History: http://codegeass.wikia.com/wiki/Suzaku_Kururugi
Personality:Suzaku, at a glance, is quite the contradiction. At heart, he is a kind, caring, and gentle young man, though he can also be stubborn, and determined to the point of ruthlessness to accomplish his goals. In addition, he's also very badly damaged from the life he's lived. He'll be arriving into the game at the end of a rather long personal journey, one that changed from an idealist and naïve young soldier, into an angry and bitter warrior, and eventually the more contrite soul he is now. He's managed to let the anger go, but he's far from at peace with himself, and seeks to atone for the things he's done.

However, its that inner conflict that has defined and informed who he is. He hates when people die, yet he joined the military. When questioned about that, he responded that he joined the military to stop people from dying. In fact the military he joined belong to the nation that conquered his own country of Japan several years ago, though he insists that he's fighting for his fellow Japanese people. He places himself in near death situations to feel alive, and selflessly tries to help others in order to selfishly cleanse his own soul. He'd gladly sacrifice his life for what he believes in, but was cursed with a "Geass" (a massively powerful post-hypnotic suggestion) to "live", which will cause him to do anything and everything within his power to save his own life, consequences be damned.

He genuinely does mean well, but as they say "The path to hell is paved with good intentions." Though he wanted to make the world a kinder and gentler place, he often times did questionable and terrible things. Some of his actions, though done for the right reasons, had far greater and more disastrous consequences than he thought possible. While he eventually succeeded in his goals, and made the world a better place, how he got there is at odds with who he is and wants to be. At series end, to atone for everything he did to change the world, he faked his own death and adopted the masked identity of "Zero," abandoning his life as Suzaku to devote himself to protecting the world, thus denying himself the chance to truly live in the better world that he fought for.

Still, despite having abandoned his name and his life, and despite all the things he's done and the things he's been through, that kindness still exists. He'll be a little dismayed that he may have to abandon the mask of Zero, at least part time, but in spite of that, he'll always try his best to help those in Prospero (be it as Suzaku or Zero).

Game Specific:
Arcana: The Hanged Man
Justification: The Hanged Man arcana tends to represent paradoxes, which represents Suzaku well. Most of his life has been a series of contradictions, with him taking actions that seem at odd with his beliefs. The arcana also represents "self-sacrifice for the sake of enlightenment" and Suzaku abandoning his normal life to live as Zero and be the protector of the world certainly fits. Also, personas with that arcana are said to excel in survivability, and given that Suzaku's "live" Geass forces him to survive by any means necessary, this also fits him.

Note: I do have one question in regards to Suzaku's Geass, though. While it was placed on him via magic, the geass itself isn't really a super-power, so much as an hypnotic suggestion, as stated earlier. It doesn't allow Suzaku any superhuman abilities, so much as alter his frame of thinking, giving him a will to "live" that can focus his mind, sharpen his reflexes, evaluate situations faster, and eliminate things that might cause him to hesitate in taking action, like compassion and self-doubt. However, he can't do anything outside of the range of skills and talents he already possesses. I understand that all superhuman abilities would be taken away, but I don't know if this qualifies under that.

Also, Suzaku will be arriving with his pet cat Arthur, who is just a normal cat.

Does anyone here go to the Community college, or know anything about it? I never got to finish school back home, so I might do that while I'm here. But anything you can tell me about it would be helpful.

Nickname: Clair

Personal LJ/DW: don’t have one
Method of Contact: spamy3@yahoo.com
Characters Played: None

Character Info:
Name: Kousuke Asazuki
Age: 15
Canon: Spiral Alive
Pull Point: Chapter 8 right after “I’ll become the world’s fastest frog!”

Background Info:
History: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiral:_The_Bonds_of_Reasoning
Personality:

Kousuke Asazuki is basically trying to look cool and smart whenever he gets the chance. To do this he keeps bringing up the fact he has defeated a Giant Anteater and does a lot of sort of long explanations for things where a simple sentence could have sufficed.

At this young age he is clearly brattier than in the main series of Spiral the Bonds of Reasoning. He is more working out where he does stand. He can analyze information; he is smart, above average. That is above average smarts unless it concerns the other Blade Children, who tend to be smarter than most normal humans. He is very defensive about his intelligence and his coolness, hence the previously mentioned anteater.

In 13 chapters, Kousuke has been kidnapped twice by Kiyotaka. He dislikes Kityotaka and the fact he is taken to Ryoko, his “not” crush on the first time. He is constantly saying stupid things to her that come off as him being mean. As soon as she leaves he is quick to regret it but he is rash in those actions and can’t seem to change them. That being said it is also rare for him to look neutral, mainly he just seems bothered/annoyed. That could just be due to the fact he is being forced to follow orders from Kiyotaka.

When forced to he will kill for self-preservation. He is forced to what with his curse and the fact multiple people are always after him and the other Blade Children to eradicate them. He prefers to do kill with a knife or switchblade. He is not as sadistic as he will be in two years about killings however.

And that is fifteen-year-old Kousuke in a nutshell.

Game Specific:
Arcana: Magician
Justification: Kousuke has to take action because if he didn’t it would cause the death of himself or someone he cared for, his power comes from the fact he can fight and think things through. He has some confidence but at this point in his life he still has some uncertainty to it. He is searching for confidence in his early years. Kousuke very much has individuality by being an incurable butt monkey, once he looks cool he will have something terrible happen to him in a silly way (i.e. door in the face). Strength of will comes from the fact he is constantly fighting for his right to live. Trickery and resourcefulness come from the fact he can trick the people with a toy Taser before stabbing them. He has to be aware of everything; the only thing that gets passed him are a few facts and Kiyotaka. The way he talks to Ryouko covers the immaturity, plus his bratty attitudes. He no doubt feels every so often that his trust is misplaced in Kiyotaka at times, aka when Kiyotaka kidnaps him.

Third Person Sample:

Kousuke glanced around at the green tinted street that, if he wasn’t mistaken had coffins ominously all around. Looked to the right. Looked to the left. He was trying to figure out if this was a better place to be rather than on the bike with that Kiyotaka Bastard-in a damn frog suit- about to go down a hill just after informing Kousuke that his seeing was decreased by his stupid outfit.

Kousuke sighed. Even if this placed looked suspiciously like some sort of green hell there was no Kiyotaka to drag him off to some place. The only worry was if Ryouko had been forced to help out with that dangerous mission he had been working on. The only thing he knew for sure: no getting back to that any time soon.

Character Info:
Name: Yosuke Hanamura
Age: 16
Canon: Persona 4
Pull Point: After discussing buying a new TV with Chie in Junes.

Background Info:
History: Yosuke wikia page
Personality: Yosuke is pretty much the epitome of a dork. Between crashing into a trash can and breaking Chie's DVD, Yosuke isn't exactly the luckiest person in the world. Yosuke's a complete klutz, which may have something to do with the fact that it's been decided that he's the comic relief character. Yosuke doesn't appear to take life very seriously prior to the confrontation with his Shadow and is a pretty lax sort of guy. One very important character trait of Yosuke's is his low self-esteem, evidenced by how he simply takes Saki's jabs toward him in stride and how he doesn't really stand up for himself. Yosuke could also be seen as something of a coward, shown by how he was ready to completely run out the door after giving Chie back her cracked DVD.

From how his Shadow acts, it's revealed that Yosuke really doesn't like living in Inaba and seeks the thrill through most walks of his life. Yosuke has a side to him that he has yet to accept, that is willing to use others to achieve his goals. Deep down, Yosuke knows for a fact of how annoying he is, to the point that he claims he even annoyed himself. Yosuke's overall dorky nature might simply be a cover for his low self-esteem and may reveal a side to Yosuke that harbors a fear of rejection. Yosuke is in constant denial of his annoying self and harbors a very deep love for a girl named Saki Konishi. Deep down, Yosuke knows that Saki doesn't truly reciprocate his feelings, though he acts like it anyways to try and spare himself the pain. Once his Persona has been achieved and Yosuke has overcome his Shadow, Yosuke's self-esteem has a large bump in the right direction and continues to grow as he becomes closer to the party.

Yosuke holds the ability to harness his hidden talents, and seems to just need a kick in the right direction most of the time. A more perverse side has been shown involving Yosuke, such as his reaction to seeing Shadow!Rise and compliments made after seeing both Chie and Yukiko in swimsuits. Still, it isn't anything too over the top and may just fall on Yosuke's basic nature as a mostly heterosexual male. Yosuke is also a very stressed individual, having to deal with being the son of a large department store owner along with the hate that follows due to the store, Junes, harming the progress of other family run stores. While Yosuke won't normally speak about these things, he does eventually open up to Yu Narukami, the Protagonist, once the two begin to talk more.

Another personality trait revealed is that Yosuke wishes to be in the spotlight and up front during battle, and seeks to be as popular as the Protagonist. The truth of Yosuke's feelings toward Yu comes out after his Social Link is maxed, revealing that Yosuke isn't the type of person to trust easily. Yosuke does have a large amount of guilt in what he hides from his friends, and eventually fought with fists with Yu Narukami so that Yu could "beat away the crap" he's been hiding. Eventually, Yosuke finds a completely new resolve when his Social Link is maxed, deciding to be a honest person and try to strive to be the right kind of confident, strong person like the Protagonist as well as more of a leader type. Overall, Yosuke is your average sixteen year old boy with lower self-esteem but a large amount of potential.

Game Specific:
Arcana: Magician Arcana.
Justification: Despite having problems with it, Yosuke has a large amount of self-confidence once he finally unlocks his Persona. He also is an "action" sort of man, preferring to jump right into situations instead of strategically thinking them out. He is able to unlock his hidden talents and become an effective fighter in battle, and as for the down side, has no qualms in manipulating others to get what he wants even though he knows it's wrong to do. Plus, he has the Arcana in his canon! /o/

Samples:

First Person Sample: [You see Yosuke, once the feed cuts on, rolling around inside of a trash can. Really, it's not the first time that this has happened.]

Hello? Is anyone out there? I'm stuck!

[Eventually, he is able to wiggle his way out on his own for once. A defeated sigh escapes him before he lifts up the device and smiles like the dork he is.]

S-Sorry about that, Prospero. Man, I never thought that would happen twice in a row. Anyways, does anyone know where I could get a decent weapon? Maybe like a sword or something? Or a kunai. That'd be awesome!

Third Person Sample: It wasn't the first time Yosuke had come across a shadow in the Dark Hour. It was, however, the first time that he had come across a shadow that resembled him perfectly. It sickened him, the things that the Shadow was saying. That wasn't him, right...? It couldn't be! Deep down, in his heart, Yosuke knew that was him. A writhing snake just waiting to be freed to wreak havoc upon his friends. Yosuke couldn't handle it, and his hands had clapped over his ears. No. He was going to block the Shadow out, and inevitably, it would go away. That's all Yosuke had ever done, just ignored those traits about himself. He could picture his father in his mind, scolding him for upsetting a customer. He pictured Saki in his mind, talking to her friends behind his back, calling him annoying and irritating. "You're not me..." A small shake of the head, and maybe a tear or two fell onto Yosuke's form. There was no way he could put up with something like that. But then... WHAM! A fist struck on the top of Yosuke's head, and he slammed onto the ground on his butt. Shocked, at first, Yosuke's eyes turned up to look at his striker. The speech given by them shocked and awed him, and turning his head, he noticed that the summoned being had defeated his Shadow in no time flat. Standing up as if a new man, with a fist utilized in his baptism, Yosuke calmly walked over to his Shadow self. Everything said in this situation, he knew it to be true... he had just lived in denial his entire life. "You are me, and I am you." Yosuke's eyes burned with confidence as he placed a hand on his Shadow softly, which disappeared in only a few minutes. A hand extended outward, with the floating Magician tarot card over it. "...This is my Persona..." Yosuke had known about Persona already from the people he had met in Prospero, and now he finally gained access to his own. His confidence brimming, Yosuke turned to his partner and winked. Now he had a way to repel the Shadows and be a hero. Now, he could fight.

Character Info:
Name: Lion-O
Age: 17
Canon: ThunderCats (2011)
Pull Point: From the end of Episode 17, “Native Son”

Background Info:
History: Here
Personality:
Lion-O is your typical teenage boy at a glance: brash, impulsive, curious and full of his own somewhat naïve ideas about the world. However, the main difference between him and a typical teenager is that he’s the heir to the throne of Thundera, the kingdom of the Cats on the distant planet of Third Earth. Despite this, he isn’t widely considered to be the best choice to succeed his father: before it was proven otherwise, he was the only one among his kind to believe that technology existed, and would often shun his duties as prince to roam the back alleys in search of lost technology to study and examine. He also doesn’t share the same racist views towards other Animals as other Cats do, firmly believing that no one should be treated harshly because of their species. It’s due to these reasons that he is treated as the black sheep of the royal family, with the public and his own father, King Claudus, largely favouring his adoptive older brother Tygra over him.

The destruction of Thundera, however, changes Lion-O’s life completely. An army of Lizards led by the Cats’ arch-enemy Mumm-Ra attack the city using the technology that the Cats believed was merely the stuff of fairy tales and thus completely unprepared for, leading to their defeat in the span of a day. The role of king is suddenly thrust upon Lion-O after the death of his father, and along with Tygra and a few other surviving Cats he wanders Third Earth, seeking to unite the other Animals to defeat Mumm-Ra and learn how to use the Cats’ ancestral weapon, the Sword of Omens, along the way. This forces Lion-O to learn what it means to be a leader.

Like any protagonist, Lion-O has insecurities regarding his role. The popularity of Tygra with the public and the fact that his brother is just plain better at some things than him has given him a bit of an inferiority complex, believing that he can never be fully up to the task of being king. Due to suddenly being made king after the destruction of Thundera, he is made to learn lessons during his journey about how not to rush into situations and listen to his teammates’ input. While he isn’t the most effective leader at first, he is slowly growing more into his role as time goes on, especially after he dies and is made to complete a series of trials in order to win back his life.

Though Lion-O is Third Earth’s best chance of defeating Mumm-Ra, wielding the same sword that his ancestor used in the Cats’ rebellion against him hundreds of years ago, he still has a lot of growing up to do. In order to do that, he needs to learn how to lead his small team against the growing threat, but he’s willing to do what it takes to get there.

Game Specific:
Arcana: Strength
Justification: Lion-O has displayed both positive and negative aspects of this arcana. On one hand, he is passionate, generous towards those in need, unwilling to abuse his strength or skill in swordplay, and is learning more self-control. On the other hand, he can be pessimistic about whether or not he’s suited to be king, and will sometimes charge into a situation before realizing he’s in over his head. Basically his journey is all about learning to harness the strength he has, whether physically or through his new position as Lord of the Thundercats.

Samples:
First Person Sample:
[The feed turns on to show Lion-O in the middle of doing…something. He doesn’t seem to realize it’s on, since it looks like he’s holding up his sword in front of his face.]

Sword of Omens, give me Sight Beyond Sight.

[After saying that, he just stands there, as though expecting something to happen, but nothing does. He lets out an irritated growl, and repeats himself, louder this time:]

Sword of Omens, give me Sight Beyond Sight!

[Again, nothing. Lion-O sighs and finally lowers his sword.]

So I really can’t do it anymore…and just when I’d finally gotten the hang of it, too. [He seems pretty troubled by this.]
Third Person Sample:
Everything was new to him, much more than before. Granted, learning about new people and new places was something Lion-O had become accustomed to on his journey back home, but this…this was entirely different. Not only had he been suddenly taken here without any of the other Cats, but he had apparently been called here to fight Shadows…or something like that. It was a lot to remember, and he needed time to think.

Wasn’t there a way back? Evidently not, from what he had been told, so whether he liked it or not his overall goal of defeating Mumm-Ra would have to wait. Lion-O gritted his teeth in frustration—even his teeth felt different, duller, without the familiar sharpness he and others of his kind were so used to.

At least this place had allowed him to keep the Sword of Omens, since fortunately he had it with him at all times. Even if they’d taken his teeth and his fur, he wasn’t completely defenseless. And he could make sure he wouldn’t be. Hefting himself to his feet with a grunt, Lion-O went off to search for a place to train.

Name: Zia
Age: School aged, about 18
Canon: Bastion
Pull Point: After Zulf reads her father's journal

Background Info:
History: Zia Zia's Stockpot/backstory in a Who Knows Where
Personality: As the only dialogue in Bastion is a narration by Rucks, and there are no words spoken by the characters themselves, it can be a little difficult to pin down exact personalities. But actions say much.

Zia is almost distressingly kind. The first time you meet her in Prosper Bluff, she's singing to herself with her guitar, almost as if fighting the monsters around her didn't occur to her, or that she knew she couldn't. This is the reason why the Kid finds her, as her song leads him to her campsite. While in the Bastion, she will hatch the eggs the Kid finds. It doesn't matter to her that what comes out are an anklegater and pecker. She will still hatch them for you.

She's curious. The biggest example of this is when she goes with Zulf after he reads her father's journal. She just has to know if what's written there is true. If what her father did was actually set off the events for the Calamity. Given what the Ura could have done to her if they found out her father had worked on the project and that Zia seems not to be a fighter… that could have ended poorly.

She's also very trusting, very much to a fault. She instantly trusts the Kid when he finds her and takes her back to the Bastion, both times he finds her. She trusts Zulf when she willingly goes with him to see for herself if what was written in her father's journal was true. And, in her past as her Who Knows Where showed, she trusted and loved a young Caelondian man only for the man to lie to the authorities about her selling Caelondian secrets to the Ura.

All in all, Zia is your very kind, very sweet, very trusting young girl. Not much of a fighter, but definitely good for support, good food, and a song.

Game Specific:
Arcana: Star
Justification: She's a shining ray of light in the Bastion! To be serious, the Star has lot of her traits. She's very calm, trusting, and inspired. She does get along better with music than history books, after all. And as Bastion plays on, she discovers more about her father, the Ura, and the Calamity.

Samples:

First Person Sample: [The video flips on again, this time showing little Zia. She offers the community a small smile as she waves.]

Hi. Um, I have another question to ask. If you're a music player, well, where do you get your supplies? [Her fingers pick up a broken string as he smile fell to rueful] I kind of need to restring my guitar. Oh, but it's okay! If you help me I'll feed you. It's not like you're doing it for nothing.
Third Person Sample: While her fingers worked on chopping and her breath hummed her favorite song softly, her mind raced. The Dark Hour, they called it. That hour of unnatural color and monsters. Of creatures coming forth to defend the inhabitants of the city. What caused this? The world was nothing like what happened to Caelondia, but… what her father did, could it have reached this far? Could this be what happened here, instead of people turning to ash? Her fingers shook slightly as her song faltered.

No, she couldn't let herself think of those days. Not of what happened. The back of her hand came to her eyes in case any of those tears fell. But she had become proficient in not letting anyone see her cry, not after that bullying. She'd be okay. Besides, she had food to make, and a Kid to invite over. What happened during the Dark Hour- it wouldn't have anything to do with what happened to Caelondia. It shouldn't, right?

Character Info:
Name: Blackiris
Age: About 21.
Canon: True Remembrance
Pull Point: Post-ending.

Background Info:
History: At some point in the future, the majority of the world’s population starts exhibiting signs of severe depression. Known as the Dolor, this disease starts being recognized as serious, yet incurable. With normal psychiatric approach rendered useless, the Mnemonicide Protocol is invented. Memory killers, they assume the role of hosts and psychologists for an indeterminate amount of time, after which they decipher what is ailing their Guest, their Psyche Corrosion. They go on to dispose of it through their own unique methods. With no more than 10,000 in the world, not all of them discovered, Mnemonicides are forced to live within a special city made specifically for Dolor victims.

Blackiris was born in a dark world. Not much is known about his past, but he seems to hail from a country completely focused on creating. Smoke littered the sky, and factories, much like the one Blackiris worked in, rendered it a depressing place. His sole consolation seemed to be a friend called Maria, who shared similar aspirations, wishing to live somewhere less uncaring, less dark. Blackiris grew to have feelings for her, perhaps being inspired by such an ideal.

Early in his life, Blackiris escaped. Earning money whatever way he could, he proved to be one of the few who could survive their trial, and he fully recognized it as sheer luck. Blackiris would have died if he hadn’t started displaying Mnemonicidal capabilities, his ever more complex personality and memory-altering eyes playing a factor in such. It wasn’t long until the government found him and started training him. This allowed him to leave his situation, as well as take Maria with him.

Out of talent and determination, Blackiris excelled. Known as a cold, uncaring man for the entirety of his student years, he didn’t let anything get in his way to attain the life without fear he so desperately wanted. Making a rival out of another prodigy, he eventually came to see a man known as Rook as a friend, albeit one with a sharply contrasting personality to his. During the following years, they took to playing games together, or simply talking in a café Rook managed. Many Mnemonicides make training in 4 to 7 years. Blackiris did it in 2. Attaining the rank of Alpha, second only to the nearly non-existent Omegas, he became a highly sought Mnemonicide for Guests who entered the town. Unfortunately, it is not a path that can accommodate to a normal lifestyle. Blackiris’ superior, Dexter, opted to erase any memory of his from Maria, a fact Blackiris just had to learn to live with from then on. At the cost of the one shining light in his dark former life, Blackiris had obtained the financial, professional, independent security he always wanted, but…

He didn’t much care. Not anymore. Blackiris found that the life he wanted didn’t hold much in the way of fulfillment. Sometime after he graduated, he went so far as to contemplate killing himself. He would’ve done so, had he not been stopped by a man who suggested they did so together. Finding him amusing, in his own way, Blackiris found himself visited with more and more frequency by him. The man known as Analye, Alpha of Omegas, became something of a friend, albeit one Blackiris would have never recognized as such. It was during this time that a project of his, as he called it, wandered into Blackiris’ apartment. While he found the fact that he was keeping a girl hidden supremely suspicious, he decided to stay out of things out of what perhaps was a belief in the good will of his friend. Regardless, he still took to welcoming her whenever she came by, reading alongside her or taking care of her to the best of his ability.

Analye revealed that his whole purpose in raising the girl was to have her take upon his memories. Mnemonicides take upon the memories of those they heal, and an Omega like Analye held the worst of it. Unwilling to live with that pain any longer, he presented Blackiris with an ultimatum: kill him, or let him transfer said suffering to the girl. Despite Analye’s apparent inclination to the former, Blackiris refused. Throwing down the gun handed to him, he left. The next time he saw them, Analye had succeeded in his plan. Seeing the old man die in peace, the girl live in suffering, Blackiris offered to erase her memories, he was refused. Sadly, Dexter found out about the entire incident. He was much less accommodating, erasing any memory of it from both of them.

Blackiris spends the next few years doing his job, tending to Guests and erasing their painful memories when he found out about it. He eventually meets the girl once again, now going by the name of La. At first treating her like any other Guest, Blackiris finds the duration of her stay particularly difficult, albeit at no fault of her own. Between making Rook favors and having to deal with insurgent groups, he goes through a hard but fulfilling month, after which La attempts to erase her memories as per her original assignment, given by Dexter. Defying it, Blackiris suggests they leave the City together, barely getting out of one last confrontation with his superior alive. Shortly after leaving the city, he arrives in Prospero.

Personality: While Blackiris is not evil, to put it bluntly, he still has some quirks born of his social ineptness that are not easy to stand. He is painfully straight-to-the-point, often correcting people if he thinks they’re not expressing themselves properly, and sometimes even unconsciously pointing out other’s faults, even outright trying to get a rise out of someone now and then (even if it’s La -- especially if it’s La). To be fair, he will try to rectify things if he thinks he’s gone too far. He’s the sort of person who handles opposition much better than compliance, as that is the only way he’s able to get his own way with emotional ease. While Blackiris can make use of an exceptional poker face, he will often smile mischievously when something amuses him, but this amusement with people doesn’t stop him from shutting himself in his house whenever he gets the chance. All of these faults are fully recognized by him, as he does possess a decent degree of self-awareness. This self-awareness does not extend to his true thoughts, however, as he repeatedly states he doesn’t care about others, even though it’s clear that’s not entirely true. It’s still a good mask to have in his profession.

Aengus Óg | Celtic Mythology | Not Reserved

Player Info:
Nickname: Pie
Age: 24
Personal DW: [personal profile] tentacular
Method of Contact: AIM: dmnthepatriots
Characters Played: Liquid Snake ([personal profile] shirtphobia), Sola-Ui Nuada-Re Sophia-Ri ([personal profile] hyphenated)*Both of these are likely to be dropped within this month, but are listed as this is uncertain.

Character Info:
Name: Aengus Óg
Age: Nobody knows. Except maybe him. And he's not telling. He looks to be in his thirties but is likely centuries older.
Canon: Irish Mythology
Pull Point: Towards the end of The Pursuit of Diarmuid and Grainne, before Diarmuid dies but after everything is seemingly sorted with Fionn.

Background Info:
History: Aengus at wikipedia!

Also: The Pursuit of Diarmuid and Grainne, The Dream of Aengus and The Wooing of Etain.
Personality: Although to those who do not know him, Aengus might appear as a fairly clueless young man, he is far more intelligent than he appears. More so, he is far more prone to trickery than most. When someone is talking to him, they should watch his words carefully; verbal agreement to something that is a figure of speech is still agreement. He will use whatever options he has to resolve things in his favour. When it comes to stubborn people, he tends to do the ancient mythological equivalent of rolling his eyes and deciding not to bother arguing. He will find other ways to deal with them.

As a deity of love, poetry and youth, he is a known romantic, although one who prefers long-term relationships, regardless of the ways they end. While he has no qualms about sleeping with his brother's partner, he devotes himself utterly to one person at a time, unlike many deities of love in mythology. He is a poet, and enjoys singing; indeed, when he and Caer Ibormeith first married, they sang until people fell asleep for no less than 72 hours.

He prefers the simple life, closer to nature as it is. In his youth he expressed arrogant and prideful behavior but in his later years he appears to have softened up somewhat. While he deals with many knights, such as his foster son Diarmuid, and has blood on his hands from past events, he prefers to resolve things in a more... delicate matter. The times when he does kill are usually in vengeance, for instance when Midir was killed, or Etain driven away by his foster mother Fuamnach. He has less qualms about causing others to die, for instance the events in The Pursuit of Diarmuid and Grainne, where he used illusions to trick Fionn into killing his own allies. Aengus is not a man who will back down when it comes to protecting those he cares about, and Diarmuid and Midir were top of that list.

Aengus is a loyal person when it comes to those he loves. The bonds he forges are strong ones and he is willing to do much for those upon whom he bestows them. Those who are the receivers of this bond find him generous and kind towards them. Even in death they may find him kind to them; the loss of Diarmuid grieves him greatly and he refuses to allow his body to be taken from him, instead choosing to breathe life into him each day so that he can speak to him for a time. Although whether this is kindness or cruelty is hard to tell. At the very least, he bears guilt over failing to protect him. It's mentioned at the time that he never stops watching him. So clearly he has no problems with stalking, seeing his son naked or watching him pee.

He can be long-winded at times, when he wants to be. Particularly when it comes to his advice. But then, this is a staple of mythology of the time and quite often he is shown as being a quiet person. He's also willing to abuse the hospitality of his actual father; during The Wooing of Etain, there are several situations whereupon he agrees to impossible things and then goes and "bewails" to his father, who then fixes things for him.

Despite that, he is a very outwardly friendly person, and one who does not have many enemies. In general he can be considered playful and lighthearted. However, he is not easy to manipulate.

As is common with intelligent people, there is the occasional moment of idiocy. For example, on top of the above "constant revival from the dead" issue, despite not eating for a year and becoming ill, he refrains from telling anyone the problem. He prefers not to speak up when he is distressed, even if it makes the situation worse.
Game Specific:
Arcana: Lovers
Justification: Amongst the Tuatha De Danaan, he is considered to be a deity of love. And out of love he makes many choices, some good, some bad. The lovers card also represents the issue of agreement, of which he is the required force. He is intuitive when he wishes to be and can be fairly wise... if not willing to misuse the trust of others.

Not for one night since my arrival here has my sleep been so disturbed.

I asked a kind lady at the pharmacy what she advised, but only medicine was her solution. Alas, it seems I must simply endure this sleeplessness.

[A sigh. He drums his fingers lightly against the windowsill, staring off into the night.]

What counsel will you give me, o poor souls who also bear this lack of dreams? Recommend me a fine tale of romance of this age. Or regale me with one of your own, if you would wish to. If sleep evades me then I will rely on entertainment to pass the time.

Third Person Sample:
Exhilerating.

A new word he had learnt recently, but one that sufficed quite nicely. The golden rays of the sun setting in the east were cast over the flowers of the park like a cloaked arm, embracing them one last time. Aengus closed his eyes, feeling the dying warmth caress his skin.

How could it be that such a travesty against nature could exist in this future? He missed the soft whispers of the trees, the rustle of grass and the cries of the birds. Those that existed here were not the same somehow. The years had changed this world. Or had it indeed? For all he knew this world could be entirely different.

And for him to be plucked like a flower from its stem and deposited into a pot of this sort... it was truly unkind. But then, could that be considered a true analogy? Flowers were not expected to fight.

Persona, they had called it. An unnatural power that did not belong in the world he knew. What else could he do but obey? If it had the hope of restoring him to the world he knew, then he must fight. Not only for his own sake, but for that of his 'child', of the bright-faced, energetic knight that he had watched over for such a long time.

How unfortunate that they should be plunged into this situation near-powerless! But if it had to be, then he would endure it.

The gentle brush of rain against his skin did not earn so much as a flinch from him. Time was ticking. How long had he stood here? The sun was gone. All that remained was the chill of the early night. The faint chimes of-

-wait, was that a bell?

"MOVE IT, LOSER!" a voice called, and he leapt aside as fast as he could, stumbling and almost falling as the two-wheeled metal deathtrap shot past him. What in the world was that thing called, anyway? It did not matter. What did matter was the fact that his reverie had been broken quite rudely. He did not appreciate it.

The most he could do was gather himself and prance off into the night and rain in search of shelter. Stupid modern day machinery. Stupid human habits of building gigantic houses. Stupid Shadows trying to hurt his foster son.

Another night was beginning. It would be time to fight soon.

Kousuke Asazuki | Spiral: Alive | No Reserve

Player Info:
Nickname: Clair
Age: 20
Personal LJ/DW: don’t have one
Method of Contact: spamy3@yahoo.com
Characters Played: None

Character Info:
Name: Kousuke Asazuki
Age: 15
Canon: Spiral Alive
Pull Point: Chapter 8 right after “I’ll become the world’s fastest frog!”

Background Info:
History: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiral:_The_Bonds_of_Reasoning
Personality:

Kousuke Asazuki is only ever allowed to look cool upon his very first introduction. After that, he is nothing but the butt monkey of the series. He is never to look cool again, despite his best efforts at trying to do so.

Kousuke is always trying to get people to see him as cool and smart. This is shown with his trying to constantly act cool such as pointing out that he has fought a giant anteater. He tries to impress people outside of the Blade Children by using his analytical skills: for example, the main girl of the Spiral Alive series and her group of friends. Around the other Blade Children this is always undermined. They are constantly calling him stupid and causing amusing injuries. All of his actions play him off as brattier than in the main series. This could be because he has yet to figure out how to roll with all of the negative comments thrown his way. He is also rather more defensive when it comes to his intelligence and coolness (which he lacks).

He constantly looks annoyed at the world. This makes sense because being a Blade Child sucks. He can’t go against Kiyotaka, who has kidnapped him twice during Alive. The first time he was taken to his “not” crush, Ryouko, where he was forced to stay. He also feverishly tries to keep her away from the murder case to keep her safe. He had left her in the first place because he had not been reliable or strong enough for her. This is undermined by Kiyotaka and his above mentioned kidnappings. He is constantly saying stupid things to her, which make him come off as mean. He always regrets these immediately afterwards.

He will kill for self-preservation. This happens often since he is a Blade Child and multiple people are after his life. He prefers to fight with a knife or switchblade but can also use other weapons, like guns. He is not as sadistic as he was when introduced into the main series. He was also kicked out of school when he was fourteen for assaulting a teacher.

That is fifteen year old Kousuke Asazuki in a nutshell.

Saber ✦ Fate Stay/Night ✦ Re-app

[personal profile] ai 2012-06-05 12:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Re-app. I'm changing her chosen Arcana to Strength over Chariot though, so please look over the advised changes:

Arcana: The Strength

Justification: While Saber hardly shows passion for anything, she excels at displaying it in battle and with her beliefs. She's firmly rooted in the values of what is right and wrong, causing her to trust in her own strengths, as well as the strengths of others. Self-control is often a strong point of her's - to the point of being a nuisance to many of her comrades. While she's normally not impulsive, there are times where she might lose this self-control, faltering when it comes to things that are cute or in the rare case - her emotions. Saber's generosity stems from her selflessness and eagerness to uphold the values of chivalry. Often at times, she'll place her own life in danger for a complete stranger, choosing to protect the weak with her own strength and experience. Despite the strong points of this Arcana being resolute in her mind, many of the faults that come with the reverse position fall into her hands as well. While defeat isn't much of an option for her, she suffers from a self-degrading one that lurks in the shadows of her mind, waiting to strike out at her. She often feels inadequate to be a knight, moreso when it comes to being a king, and doubly so when it comes being alive again.
