Characters Played: Ryuunosuke Uryuu, Ledah

Character Info:
Name: Issei Ryudo
Age: 17
Canon: Fate/Stay Night
Pull Point: After Unlimited Blade Works.

Background Info:
History: History, what history? Well, there's all this stuff about magi and a holy grail and heroic spirits going on in the background, but none of that is remotely relevant to Issei!

Things that are relevant to Issei: he was born as the son of the owner of Ryudoji Temple in Fuyuki, Japan. He has every intention of becoming a monk; in the meantime, he's the student council president at his high school. Most of his time in canon is spent worrying over his best friend, Shirou Emiya; we hear from him that he's very popular with girls in the school, but luckily for Issei's dignity, we never see that onscreen.

There are a few tidbits of history we get - he has considered one of the teachers who lives in his temple with him a brother for three years, and his hated rival Rin Tohsaka (he considers her a rival, she barely notices him) used to be in the same student council with him. But most of his role is to provide exposition, bring out defining character traits in others, and freak out that one time it looked like he might be a significant character and Shirou told him to strip. (It made complete sense at the time to Shirou, but from Issei's perspective, it was his best friend ordering him randomly in the middle of lunch to take off his clothes, and then doing it by force. And then acting like nothing at all happened later. What even was going on there.)

Did I mention he was a minor character?

Personality: Normally, Issei presents a fairly calm and responsible front. He works diligently as student council president, grumbling good-naturedly about his fellow council members who don't work as hard as him. His friends don't remember him ever missing a class. He drinks tea in the morning, reads poetry, follows his family's heritage as monks (even going so far as to want to shave his head after graduation), and generally is a well-behaved, polite young man.

A few things raise his ire, and when they do, he gets well and truly pissed off. His rival Rin, for example, has earned his enmity for manipulating the entire school into believing her false 'perfect student' impression. He won't hesitate on taking a chance to keep people away from her, or to strike at her if there's an opportunity... unfortunately, she always has the upper hand.

An issue more important to him is the matter of friendship. He only seems to have one real friend, Shirou, but he treats him warmly and with great care. He's always looking out for Shirou, warning him away from dangers like Rin and being taken advantage of for being too much of a doormat. When Shirou misses just one day of school, Issei arrives at his home bearing fruit for the supposed sick student. Issei is always blushing at him and places a great deal of weight in his opinion and happiness.

While Issei tends to be shy and cold towards people he doesn't like, and he's particularly wary around women due to his teachings, particularly beautiful women can break through that. Caster he speaks well of, and Saber he trusts instinctively despite her being in Shirou's home (a massive problem for overprotective Issei).

He's also a dork who can quote poetry and may or may not have a system for working out where to eat school lunch based on if he coughs in the morning. And he's extraordinarily tactile, often grabbing onto Shirou without warning.

Finally, he doesn't believe that normal people should get involved in things above their heads, and he's a normal person. So that will be fun.

Game Specific:
Arcana: Strength
Justification: Passion - Issei has a few subjects he cares incredibly strongly about and cannot be swayed over.
Self control - Normally, he's one of the most restrained characters, and practices self-control as a monk.
Generosity - Issei looks out for his friends even when they don't need being taken care of so much.
Inadequacy - It will take about two seconds for Issei to get upset over being a completely normal person in Prospero.
Unworthy or immoral impulses - He worries a lot over being swayed to wickedness through the charms of women. Way too much, most people would say.

Samples:
First Person Sample: This is a ridiculous situation. It isn't possible for someone to wake up on another continent for no reason. For one thing, who would bother to kidnap a monk? Not even a monk, but a monk in training?

On the chance that this isn't an extraordinarily vivid dream, I'd like to ask for some explanation of what on earth is going on here. I would appreciate it. The only other apparent option would be to beat my head against the wall until the concussion knocks me out and I wake up at home again, but that doesn't appeal as much.

Third Person Sample: Issei wakes up at three AM. He can't help it. That's the sleep schedule that monks keep, and even if he is a continent removed from his temple, he is still a monk.

However, his sleep schedule is designed for him to go to bed at eight PM. Since he can't well leave those monsters out for everyone else to fight, he has to stay up past the Dark Hour. Even if he collapses into bed immediately after, he still looks like death when he wakes up a few hours later.

At this rate, it won't be the Shadows that kill him, but trying to prepare breakfast while falling asleep. He drinks twice as much tea as he used to and drags himself to school. He likes school, he really does - he used to be one of the best students in his class, although not the best. It's just harder to focus when his eyelids keep drooping and he wants to dream of home, of normalcy, of sitting on the step in front of the temple gates and just relaxing.

He really hopes his sleep schedule fixes itself soon. He doesn't want another detention for sleeping in class; it's shameful.

Ryuunosuke Uryuu | Fate/Zero | Re-app | So lazy I didn't even re-write the samples

[personal profile] kindofademon 2012-06-29 02:05 am (UTC)(link)

Player Info:
Nickname: Mini
Age: 18
Personal LJ: [personal profile] misheard
Method of Contact: AIM: ryudojitemple, Plurk: Misheard, Email: nealuchi@gmail.com
Characters Played: Issei Ryudo

Character Info:
Name: Ryuunosuke Uryuu
Age: 26 (no age given, but has been off murdering for five years before the start of the story)
Canon: Fate/Zero
Pull Point: After his death via sniper rifle.

Background Info:
History: There is a thing called a 'Holy Grail', which magi compete for in order to gain a wish. Seven of them call forth heroic spirits - or the truly villainous figures of legend - in order to fight each other to obtain the prize.

However, the magi do not choose to be the ones to compete. The Grail chooses the ones that it wants to compete, and in the case of the plot of Fate/zero, it needed a seventh. Ryuunosuke is not a magus. He happens to have Magic Circuits - the part of the body inherited from one's family that allows a person to use magic - but he was not raised with any knowledge of magic, nor does he have the strict upbringing of the magus or the worldview. Any proper magus would be restricted and sensible in the pursuit of the Grail... Ryuunosuke doesn't care a bit.

When he summons Caster, he's trying to summon a demon so he can watch it kill. He used the blood of three members of a family of four to draw the summoning circle and keeps the fourth, a child, for the supposed demon to eat. When Caster does come, and the child soon horribly dies, he's overjoyed that such a cool guy answered his call.

Caster and Ryuunosuke soon get to sacrificing children and using them in their experiments - because of Caster's magic, they can twist the kids' shapes into whatever they wish and still keep them alive. They have almost no participation in the normal battles of the Holy Grail War, instead using the opportunity to become an unseen menace in the city.

The supervisor notices that they're being incredibly destructive and not at all following the rules, and calls a halt to the war in order for the actual magi involved and their Servants to stop them. While other Servants work together to stop Caster (who turned into a horrible monster), another Master shoots Ryuunosuke (who is excitedly cheering the horrible monster on) in the head.
Personality: Ryuunosuke loves life. That's why he likes taking it so much.

His main interest is in death, and what he sees to be beautiful in the experience. He enjoys killing people he doesn't know for the sole purpose of seeing them die. He often lures women attracted to him away from bars in order to murder them - when that stops being interesting, and he summons Caster, he switches mainly to killing children. He likes children. Less annoying than adults.

He sees more than that, though. He profoundly believes in God, who created a world full of rich experiences both wonderful and terrifying. If there's anything he dislikes, it's the kind of person who goes from day to day living the boring, same old routine that doesn't experience the full tapestry of life the world has to offer. Ryuunosuke loves the unfolding story of the world, and is excited by the chances to do strange things a normal person wouldn't see. That's one of the reasons why he travels all over the country. Another reason, of course, is not to be caught as a homicidal maniac.

The desire to be 'cool' drives him, although in a warped and twisted way. He's excellent at seduction, judging by how many women he can get to follow him to where he can kill them. Before canon starts, he's careful to dispose of the body and never kill twice on the same place; he doesn't like going into hiding at all, even for the sake of not being caught by the police.

From basically the moment that Caster's summoned, Ryuunosuke is more of his fanboy than his Master. Caster can kill in ways that he's never seen, in addition to being really cool just through his personality (well, according to Ryuunosuke). Ryuunosuke gets embarrassed at his compliments and thrills at his praise and encouragement, and enjoys nothing better than murdering alongside him. When summoning a Servant, if no artifact is possessed, one will call a Servant similar in character to them. Caster's hedonistic, self-centered view of the world and joy in killing is entirely among Ryuunosuke's tastes, and of all the Masters and Servants in the war, they easily have the friendliest relationship.

Compared to the magi who are his opponents, Ryuunosuke is incredibly casual. He's only a normal guy, after all. While a magus has been raised to be cold-blooded and an heir of a long legacy, Ryuunosuke only happens to have Magic Circuits, and only happens to have turned out as a serial killer. He's easily excitable at things he finds interesting, and doesn't mind talking about someone's impending death.

Game Specific:
Arcana: Devil
Justification: Knowledge of one's own desires and needs: Ryuunosuke does nothing for anyone else. He is completely focused on his own wants, even and especially when those wants result in the deaths of others.
Obsession: Enjoying killing at all is unhealthy, but he enjoys it enough to deserve the label of 'homicidal maniac'.
Material things: He focuses entirely on sensation and new physical experiences. He has no emotional bond even to his family; the only exception is possibly to Caster.
True evil: It's difficult to say that Ryuunosuke has any redeeming qualities at all.

Samples:
First Person Sample: [Being in a place like this, after seeing that amazing creature that defied all reason, was definitely a letdown. There was no one dying and no one in terror. He didn't even have his head off now.]

[He wouldn't try to repeat that to see the beautiful color of his own blood again. If he was wrong, then he'd miss out on something more amazing, and even if he was right, there was something very important to deal with first!]

A place like this is pretty boring, huh... Maybe things are different here and I just haven't found all the excitement yet. Oh, but that's not what this is about. I'm looking for somebody right now!

He's about 6'4", wears some kind of robes like a magician. Goes by Bluebeard, or, uh, what was that he called himself when we met? It was, hm, okay~ Yeah, if you see anybody called Caster, that has to be him.

It's not really as fun without him anymore, so if anybody sees him, give me a call! My name's Ryuunosuke.

Third Person Sample: It's a blessing and a curse, ending up in a strange place like this for no reason. It's a blessing because - waking up in a new place after what should have been his death, how exciting! He doesn't know how he got here or how he would get back to Fuyuki if he were to want to go back to Fuyuki. Definitely, this is outside of normal reasoning.

But everything here is too much the same. If he was going to end up in a fantasyland, then it should be more fantasy. A kidnapping scenario should have him doing something other than wandering around the city. This is like so many of the other places he'd been to. Everyone he sees in person is just boring.

Right. No reason to be upset about his luck when he hasn't even killed anyone yet. Sir Bluebeard would have definitely told him that he can't be limited by time or place when it comes to his own enjoyment. He'll make the most of this, as soon as he gets adjusted to here enough to not get caught.

Ledah Rozwelli | Riviera: the Promised Land | Re-app

Player Info:
Nickname: Mini
Age: 18
Personal LJ: [personal profile] misheard
Method of Contact: AIM: ryudojitemple, Plurk: Misheard, Email: nealuchi@gmail.com
Characters Played: Issei Ryudo, Ryuunosuke Uryuu

Character Info:
Name: Ledah
Age: Appears 18, no age given
Canon: Riviera: the Promised Land
Pull Point: Post-death

Background Info:
History: The war of gods versus demons ages ago was only narrowly won by the gods, and though the realm that the demons came from was turned into Riviera - a peaceful home for Sprites - there was the possibility that it might need to be destroyed for the safety of Asgard, the home of the gods, in order to stop another such war.

Grim Angels were one of the weapons created by the gods in this war. To become a Grim Angel and receive their weapon and high power, an angel must sacrifice something; Ledah revealed that he gave up his emotions.

Two Grim Angels, Ledah and Ein, were sent by Hector (one of the Magi, who ruled in the gods' stead) to actuate the Retribution and destroy Riviera for good. They followed these orders, battling demons on the way; however, before they could make it to Riviera itself, a powerful being that protected the land, Ursula, stopped them and pulled Ein to Riviera with amnesia, causing him to develop an attachment to the land and people and become the main protagonist.

Ledah continued to follow the orders of Hector to actuate the Retribution, as it was the will of the gods. He was made aware of another Grim Angel, Malice, also following Hector's orders, as well as that Ein was alive and working on the side of the Sprites. To open the way to where Ursula's body was kept, the two Grim Angels still trying to kill her needed to sacrifice the souls of Sprites.

Between the two of them, they were able to open the way to Yggdrasil and start destroying its protections. When Ein caught up to him, Ledah fought his former friend; upon losing, he demanded that Ein finish him off. Predictably, Ein refused to kill him, and so Malice snuck up on him and gave him a deep wound. Ledah encouraged Ein to go after her, citing that she had become Hector's tool and no longer followed the will of the gods.

Later, when Ein is about to be killed by Malice, Ledah comes out of nowhere and takes the mortal blow for him. He tells Ein that Hector wants to usurp the gods and is the cause of the demons and strife on Riviera, reveals his loss of emotions, and then dies.

Personality: Ledah says that he lost his emotions in order to become a Grim Angel, but it appears that he still has some muted ones. He's irritated by Ein wasting time, and then joining the other side; he's also a bit jealous that Ein grows stronger than him. He has trouble identifying these limited emotions, and would prefer not to feel anything in order to be able to carry out his missions successfully.

His biggest thing is loyalty to the gods, and by nature to the Magi that represent them. He won't go against the gods' will for any reason, not even for mercy or because his friend is on the other side. When he turns against Hector, it's because he's realized that Hector is out to serve himself and not the gods.

Ledah tends to be formal and quiet. He has no reason to waste time on jokes or fooling around, or even unneeded conversation. He doesn't reveal more information about himself than he has to, and usually hides what he sacrificed from everyone.

Game Specific:
Arcana: Hermit
Justification: Solitude: Ledah's battle label is 'The Solitary Angel'. He regards working with other people with emotions as a hindrance to carrying out his mission.
Caution, planning: Ledah never rushes into anything and takes the logical approach to almost everything.
Wise guidance: He's the one to teach Ein about how to fight, and gives him advice that he needs about both battle and the world.
Searching for answers: Ledah eventually realizes that he's been following the wrong person, and gives up his life so that good can triumph. He says that he could not find the answer, but Ein can.

Samples:
First Person Sample: I need a lance.

[Ledah cuts to the chase, tone flat and face impassive.]

Wandering around unfamiliar territory unarmed is foolish. While I would prefer to have my own weapon, I will make do with anything I can use. The enemy must be incredibly powerful to both disarm me of Lorelei and remove my wings overnight.

Do any of you know who the enemy is?

Third Person Sample: Ledah doesn't recognize anything outside. It's clearly not Asgard and clearly not Riviera. The buildings are of strange construction, the people dressed oddly, and-

Some people glance at him oddly when he slams back into a building wall at the first pass of a car. He'd meant to take to the air at the sight of a strange quickly-moving object, but that was doomed to failure without wings. Instead he waits for his breathing to calm and... why was he breathing hard in the first place? He hadn't exerted himself.

He has no idea where he is, he's unarmed and without his wings. The reason he's panicking is not any of those, but because he now has the ability to feel panic, and that is intensely more frightening than anything else.

Yu Narukami | Persona 4: The Animation | Reserved

[personal profile] beautyofdestiny 2012-07-03 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
Player Info:
Nickname: Trek
Age: 18
Personal LJ/DW: [personal profile] treking
Method of Contact: AIM is whysotrek, Plurk is trekking
Characters Played: N/A

Character Info:
Name: Yu Narukami
Age: 17
Canon: Persona 4: The Animation
Pull Point: During his train ride to Inaba.

Background Info:
History: Here's a link for ya
Personality: What do we know about Yu Narukami? Well, first off, we can look at his stat screen. Courage represents how willing he is to face different issues, be it from a physical or mental standpoint. Diligence shows that Narukami is a hard working type of person, preferring to actually do something than just sit around twiddling his thumbs. Knowledge represents the fact that Narukami gets smarter, as your usual human being. Expression shows just how far Narukami is willing to go to express himself, so that’s somewhat self-explanatory. Finally, Understanding represents how Narukami is able to understand others, and how comforting he can be depending upon how close he is to the person. Getting down to the nitty gritty of a silent protagonist, however, is a bit tricky. These stats and his responses are pretty common and don’t exactly give us a good depiction of his personality. However, this is where the anime comes in.

Narukami is a very kind sort of person, using his manners in every situation and deciding only to speak up when he feels it’s necessary. He seems to have a permanent lineface about him, claiming that he’s “crying” with a neutral face, and making jokes that others seem to find unconvincing due to his expression at the time. Most of the jokes, granted, are just odd anyways. Yu is sort of quirky and doesn’t seem like the kind of person willing to speak up in a situation, which means that he can easily be taken advantage of. He’s the guy who is dragged along everywhere with his friends and forced into uncomfortable situations. He’s a perceptive individual, able to spot very small details about a person and able to tell how they’re feeling pretty well. He’s also comforting, but in a dry sort of way. He’s willing to be kind to a person but not exactly the best person to use a crutch. He also seems to be completely oblivious to a few things, so trying to get him as a boyfriend would be a bad idea.

Narukami is also naïve. Very naïve. He also seems to be a bit sarcastic in certain situations and won’t miss the opportunity to tease someone. In the end though, it’s all in good fun, and besides the traits mentioned Yu is a pretty normal chap. Yu values his friendship higher than most things in life, and it is each Social Link he gains that assists him both in battle and through life. His family and friends are the most important things to him, and if you mess with them then you’re going to be able to irritate him. A more comedic side to Narukami’s personality is that he can get too “into the moment”, having punched Yosuke when fighting Yosuke’s Shadow and having swiped his hand forward to command his Persona despite having not done it before. Narukami also seems to be a bit concealed about his sexuality, having been willing to kill Kanji’s Shadow instantly just because he flirted with him, and completely collapsing due to one grope.

The scariest side to Narukami has to be his anger. Narukami isn’t the type of person to scream and rant and rave and completely lose himself. Instead, he grows very cold and very calm, to the point that he’s calmer than usual. He will speak coldly and focus on nothing more than his source of anger at the time. It is impossible to get Narukami into this situation, unless you mess with the two things above. At the same time, if Narukami feels an emotion hard enough, it will spill out. This was the case when he broke down crying over Nanako, unable to hold it in any longer. Narukami seems to have taken the revelation of Persona and the TV World in stride, which showed a side to him that finds most abnormalities pretty common despite his normal life prior to the Midnight Channel. Nothing much can surprise Narukami anymore, though he still wonders why so many people in his life do such weird things. All in all, Narukami is a very interesting individual who tries to live his life and, while initially having rejected friendship due to constantly moving, now understands the true importance of the friends that he gained during his stay in Inaba.

Game Specific:
Arcana: Fool
Justification: It's his canon Arcana.

Samples:

First Person Sample: Everything here!
Third Person Sample: The defeat of Izanami was still fresh on the Protagonist’s mind, as he stared out the window listlessly. A hand was propped his chin up, placed directly down upon its palm and his gray eyes seemed a bit distant. He was lost in thought, and his mind was still upon the scene on his TV that disturbed him. It was easy enough to simply chalk Teddie’s differences up to it being a Shadow version of him… But the threat of Shadows should have disappeared, as should have the Midnight Channel after Izanami’s defeat. The fact that the Shadows, Midnight Channel, and fog had all returned had prompted Yu to once again return to the town of Inaba. Trying to enter the Midnight Channel from his TV in his home town would have been a mistake, and he may have ended up trapped in some foreign world he wasn’t too fond of. As a light bump caused Yu to slightly hop up out of his seat, he started to remember the first time he had been on the train. A short glance was made to look up at his black suitcase above him, reminding him of his first visit to Yasoinaba. It had been two months since his return, and he was anxious to see his friends again. All of the friendships he made, and all the memories he held hadn’t disappeared in those two months, though Yu had never expected he would return to Inaba so soon. It was both a gift and a curse. A gift that he was going to be able to see everyone again… And a curse that another mystery was plaguing the usually quiet town.

As the train continued on its way toward Yasoinaba, the sun hung itself high in the sky. Yu had decided to plan his trip so that he would end up in Yasoinaba sometime in the afternoon, having gotten up extra early just for that occasion. He hadn’t informed his uncle, Ryotaro Dojima, of the reason as to why he was returning but it didn’t seem like he was complaining too much. Yu was just as happy as he expected his uncle to be that he was going to see his family once again. Maybe even Nanako would still be clinging to her wishes of marrying him. She was young and Yu felt she didn’t truly understand the whole concept, which caused a very light smile to strike his face as he gazed toward the soft sun. Of course, the memories that he held of Inaba couldn’t all be happy ones. He still remembered the issues with Namatame and Adachi, and how they were used so easily as mere puppets in the same way Yu had been used. But, Yu had prevailed and hadn’t Izanami promised to leave humanity as it was? The whole issue with the Midnight Channel’s return and Shadows would have to wait for now. First, Yu had to get settled in once again with the Dojimas. Once he had completed that task, he would have to see just how many members of the Investigation Team he could round up again. It wouldn’t be an easy task, but Yu had a hunch that a few of them may know far more about the situation than him. Teddie had been just as much a friend of them as he was to Yu, and Yu assumed that the rest of the Investigation Team would be just as worried about him as he was.

The light ‘hissss’ of the train wheels as they made their stop jostled Yu from his thoughts, and he took the time to look around at the other occupants of the train. While he hadn’t noticed it at first, it didn’t seem like there were a lot of occupants on the train in the first place. Just like the first time he arrived in Yasoinaba, it seemed he would be the only one getting off at the stop. Slipping up from his train seat, Yu quickly gathered his suitcase from the top area and stepped out of the opening doors. It was with this moment that Yu was able to take in the familiar sight of the rural town. A smile caught his face only lightly before it faded, and Yu’s eyes gazed from one side to the next before extending forth. He expected Dojima to be standing right there like old times, and Nanako hiding behind him and blushing. Neither sight caught his gaze, though this was to be expected. After all, Ryotaro Dojima was still a detective and with the odd return of the Midnight Channel and Shadows, Yu had no doubt in his mind that this would attract his attention. Gripping onto his suitcase and standing there, Yu took a deep breath in and out. The rural air compared to the city air was cleaner, nicer, and it seemed a lot quieter in Yasoinaba since his previous stay. As he awaited his Uncle to arrive, Yu closed his eyes, and took everything in about the town of Inaba that he had missed these past two months. The air, the sounds and the memories…

Canon: Milky Way and the Galaxy Girls
Pull Point: Present day.

Background Info:
History: Do I seriously have to go through all 4.5 billion years? We'll be here forever and a lot of it's really boring. Anyway, Jupiter is an anthropomorphic personification of the planet. She both is Jupiter and lives on Jupiter, kind of like a Hetalia character. According to Lauren Faust's official blog posts, she meets up with Milky Way, our main character, when Milky visits the solar system for the first time and promptly screws everything up by breaking a small planetoid in which Black Hole -- an evil anthropomorphic black hole, naturally -- was sealed to keep it from eating everything. All of the planets -- Pluto included, she still considers herself one -- as well as the Sun and Moon work together to retrieve all the fragments; this is what would be the plot of the series (although said series has been in development hell for what, six years?), with Milky, Venus, Mars, Pluto, and Jupiter as the main five.

After that, they just end up being friends and hanging around a lot. In-character blog posts and art posts reflect current events, as well as randomly pointing out things that would be of interest to the characters. Again, it's a lot like the setup of Hetalia that way, only with science instead of national stereotypes.

Go read all this stuff.

Personality: Jupiter is, well, a hippie. She meditates, wears flared pants and a scarf around her head, speaks slowly and happily, and peppers her speech with "like", "y'know", and sixties slang. She's described as a granola girl by the official site and it's true -- she even drives a shaggin' wagon. A hybrid approved shaggin' wagon that can somehow sustainably jet-pack through space. She doesn't call it that, but that's what it is.

She isn't one of those lazy types who just preaches the whole social justice warrior thing without research and then proceeds to live a normal life, though. Jupiter helps charities whenever she can and often organizes events to clean up space after astronauts leave garbage floating around. She doesn't blindly buy stuff with "organic" on the label, either; she does her research and shares it with her friends, too. All in all, more hippie than hipster -- Ceres is the hipster here -- and she likes it that way.

Jupiter is a little spacey, though, and yes, I should be thrown out a window for that pun. Not as bad as Mars, but she can be found having deep metaphysical conversations with birds at the bus stop. She also can't resist helping out some poor creature in need or another -- she has almost seventy pets at home, orbiting her planet (each is a personification of one of her moons, plus at least some other features -- the Southern Equatorial Belt is one). It can get a little chaotic, but she keeps calm and runs the whole situation easily, making sure all the animals get along. She even gives them little space helmets and jet packs so she can take some of them with her when she goes somewhere.

She will also try to get you to meditate with her. If you don't, that's okay. But the offer is up there. Be one with the universe, cosmic soulmates.

Game Specific:
Arcana: Priestess
Justification: The entire franchise has an undercurrent of "power of the feminine" and the notion that girls can be whatever they very well feel like instead of feeling pigeonholed as the girly-girl or rebelling against that and instantly being pigeonholed as the tomboy instead. Jupiter hits a lot more points of the Priestess herself. She consistently seeks inner peace and knowledge of the universe, and she can go on about being in harmony with existence for hours. Everything she does is because of what she feels is right rather than what's easy to do, and she wants to make the galaxy a better place. She does have an impulsive and short-sighted side as well -- sixty-some pets, really?

Samples:

First Person Sample:

Dudes and dudettes, check it. So, Earth's a pretty swingin' place so far, but, like, a girl like me needs exploration even if space travel's out, right? And the dudes who kidnapped us yanked my jet-powered roller skates. I'm dealing without shoes, but a lot of places won't let you in without 'em, y'know? I don't want to be scared of stepping on glass, either. Anyone know where to grab some?

Oh! While I'm here, there's gotta be someone up for meditation circles, right? It's important to be one with the universe even if you're in the wrong one. After all, this Persona thing's, like, your mind, y'know?

Third Person Sample:

She was going to need a bigger room.

Jupiter had only been around for a few days, and had only been able to bring one of her pets, and while she loved Io, the dog was getting pretty lonely without his friends. (How many pets did she have at home? It was sixty-three moons at last count, plus Seb -- he kept wandering off -- but then she found those other three adorable space mice and she just had to take them in...) To be fair, she'd had billions of years to accumulate all those pets at home, but Prospero was brand new territory, and when both she and her dog were feeling a little isolated, cardboard boxes on corners with dogs or cats or turtles -- yes -- seemed easier and easier to come by.

She wondered if the hotel owner would notice or mind. So far he hadn't complained. Far out.

She was going to have to get an apartment or house at this rate, though. Or at least ask for her Solar Wagon back the next time they got things from home. Plenty of space in that.

Character Info:
Name:The Archive ("Ivy")
Age:13
Canon:The Dresden Files
Pull Point:After Harry Dresden contacts her in Changes

Background Info:
History:Whose history? There are two histories to be told here: one of the Archive and one of Ivy herself.

The Archive is a magical construct of untold powers. It's passed down mother to daughter, and when one Archive dies, the daughter receives the power and knowledge passed down for untold generations. While the Archive is powerful magically (Ivy is seen taking out several Red Court vampires around age 9 without even finding it any trouble), the biggest power the Archive has is knowledge. She has a perfect knowledge of anything ever written down. This knowledge and magical power puts any Archive, a human with this construct passed down inside of her, on equal footing with any of the strongest magical beings on this planet.

But where does Ivy fit in? Her story as the Archive is different. Usually the Archive is passed down from an old woman to an adult woman, and the power of life and experiences keeps the new Archive from going insane. However, Ivy's grandmother lost her life early to a car accident, and her mother gained the power of the Archive at a too young age, barely in her twenties. She resented her grandmother for it, and when her daughter was born, resented her daughter for the full life she would live before she would be forced to take the power of thr Archive. So her mother decided not to live this life anymore and killed herself, passing the power on to a baby girl who grew up knowing exactly what her mother was thinking before she died.

Ivy's story is a lonely one starting here. She grew up not able to take part in normal childish things as she had the destiny of the Archive to live. Her bodyguard, Kincaid, was kind enough to her, but would kill anyone threatening her at a moment's notice. No friends, no family... just her and Kincaid. That is, until one wizard named Harry Dresden had a duel with a Red Court vampire to settle the war between the wizards and vampires and she was called upon to be an impartial judge. Dresden treated her with kindness, like she was just any little girl, and in fact gave her a nickname. "Ivy," from the last part of her title. Dresden, in fact, treated her like a friend in Death Masks.

Ivy is next seen in Small Favor. Dresden required a neutral party to oversee a meeting between him and a group of fallen angels named the Denarians. He chose the Archive, claiming a working relationship with the girl. She's about twelve in this book, and takes the offer gladly. They meet the Denarians in an aquarium, where the fallen angels naturally turn on them, lock the place down magically, and manage to knock Ivy out and steal her away. While they would have lost her until the magical field they used fell due to the amount of power needed to sustain it, they used the biggest things of Ivy against her to reveal her position: her feelings for both her bodyguard Kincaid, her only family, as well as for Harry Dresden, her only friend. Even then, even with most of her magical power locked away from her, she managed to keep the Denarians at bay. To which the Denarians proceeded to play dirty and use gas to knock the tiny child out. While in their care, they tortured her, tried to break her will and make her desperate to make it end. They wanted her to accept a fallen angel into her mind and become one of them. They wanted the magical ability and the limitless knowledge of the Archive for their own.

So of course Harry Dresden ruined that party and rescued her.

She's only seen briefly in Changes. Dresden needed help finding a little girl very important to him: his own daughter he never knew by the only woman he had loved during the series and lost due to the Red Court half changing Susan Rodriguez into a vampire. While Ivy-the-girl wanted to help him desperately, Ivy-the-Archive was unable to. The Archive was created neutral, and no part of her will to help her friend help save his daughter's life would override that neutrality. But she was able to point him in the right direction, and give him as much help as she could.
Personality:For the most part, the Archive is very prim and proper. She doesn't drive because she's too young (and because her feet don't reach the pedals). Of course she could drive better than most professional drivers, but she sticks to the laws. She's not short, she's in the seventy sixth percentile of her age group. If she catches you cheating during a duel, using a weapon that wasn't agreed on or using outside help, she will kill you. No questions asked.

But underneath that scary intelligence and proper behavior is still a kid. She gets scared when faced with a fallen angel, and tries to wisecrack her way out like her friend, Harry Dresden, would. She likes cute things, like Dresden's huge cat Mister and sea otters at the aquarium. When things aren't fair she tries to make them so the best the Archive lets her.

Most of all? She's loyal. If anyone was to try to hurt Kincaid or Dresden with her around, she would be out of hiding to kick ass. These are her friends. Her family, the man that raised her. Her friend, the man that treated her kindly and gave her an actual name. The Denarians used this against her, threatening to kill Kincaid and actually almost shooting Dresden in the head before she unveiled herself and stopped the bullet from reaching him.

Don't mess with Ivy, man. She will kick your ass.

Game Specific:
Arcana: Justice
Justification: That's Ivy and the Archive in general. Impartial judge, rational... but still a kid and still capable of irrationality and bias.

Samples:

First Person Sample: [When the broadcast started, the little angelic look of a Caucasian blonde girl looking at the camera with far too intelligent eyes was the image that came through. Her voice was calm, proper, but an undercurrent of fear was palpable]

While it's a shock that this device is still functional on my person, it's certainly useful. I'm looking for one of two men, both of which may be looking for a person of my description. One is a man by the name if Kincaid, and he will most certainly respond to his name and my description. The other... [She swallowed here. The idea of not being able to get in contact with Kincaid worried at her.] The other will not have a mobile phone and will not be able to use one. If Kincaid is unavailable, a tall man with a large staff by the name of Harry Dresden will know what it means. Just tell him... Ivy's looking for him. And not to contact me through the usual channels.

In the meantime, I notice there is a school with a dormitory here. Are they taking new students?
Third Person Sample: The sudden loss of the Archive always made her uneasy and almost nauseous. That was a part of her as long as her memory as this little girl went back. She had never thought what it would be like if she was simply a normal little girl with a normal mortal memory of the vast knowledge of the ancient Archive. Certainly, it made it easy in school as even that memory was more than enough to put her in college courses and not even struggle too much there, but it was disconcerting to not have the knowledge of the written world immediately poured into her memory.

The biggest problem came at the unknown hour. The Dark Hour, so it was called. Her memory as the Archive knew nothing about how this came about, why, what the Shadows were, and why her magic had no chance of beating them. The way to fight the Shadows, their Personae, also gnawed at her. Why was a facade like a Persona something that could fight these monsters, and yet her own magic could not? Why did they take on a form from mythology like that if they were from the captive's own minds? Why did they even exist? This were questions she should have immediate answers to, and found herself reaching for thin air.

Oh shoot! Ivy suddenly realized the homework left on her table back at her dorm hadn't been finished. Calculus was something she may enjoy more than other classes, but she still needed to actually do the homework to keep her grades up to her satisfaction. Ivy nodded to her team and rushed back to the dorm, hoping she would finish before her assigned bedtime.

Character Info:
Name: Vriska Serket
Age: Six sweeps (thirteen years)
Canon: MS Paint Adventures: Homestuck
Pull Point: In that brief half-second between dying and going God Tier

Background Info:
History: Her biography on the MSPA wiki. Warning, non-linear timelines.
Personality: "8luh 8luh huge 8itch."

To pair it down to a simple sentence, Vriska is a psychopathic bitch. The FLARP circle of destruction really highlights this perfectly: how she crippled Tavros just because she was bored. How she used Sollux to kill Aradia for Aradia getting revenge on Tavros. How she blinded Terezi and assumed she would be wandering until something killed her just because Terezi got revenge on what happened with Tavros and Aradia. Much of what she did in her life boiled down to two things: Feeding her lusus or fighting her boredom. Both ways, she did some nasty, nasty things.

But, as post-God Tier updates show, her huge bitch side is not all of her. She was certainly upset when her attempts to reconcile with Aradia fell through, and she felt bad when she killed Tavros after trying to help him get stronger. In fact, the reason why she was about to go fight Jack Noir was to protect all of her friends, even at the expense of her own life. While it might seem Vriska only cares about Vriska, she was more than ready to save everyone else's life. She is also incredibly hard on herself, calling her rather high blood color "enviable cerulean swill."

Luck is something Vriska believes a lot in. She believes that everything that has happened to her, from losing her eye and arm to something as simple as stepping on d4's are due to her bad luck. While it's more self-inflicted bad luck than the universe conspiring against her (the d4's, for instance, she could avoid by cleaning), it's still something she holds onto, believing she once held "all the luck" and now have lost it all.

Much like her spider lusus, she puts a lot of stock into manipulating others and being a great manipulator. But she's rather short-sighted in that regards, blindly allowing herself to be manipulated by Doc Scratch. While her psychic abilities are quite good at using people, making people do things that she wants, she's incredibly envious of Terezi and her ability to manipulate people without any psychic ability at all. She's trying to appear she's doing it all on her own wits and intelligence, throwing fits whenever people call her out on the use of her powers.

One thing to note, however, is she is a troll, and thus has a typing quirk. Her's is typing in her 8lood color, replacing all "8" sounds with the num8er, and streeeeeeeeaching vowels and punctu8on out to 8  when needing emphasis. ;;;;) 8ut when she's frustrated, m8re vowels get repl8ced 8y 8s almost rand8mly.

Game Specific:
Arcana: Magician
Justification:  It's practically Vriska to a "t," for both upright and reverse. She's incredibly confident in herself and resourceful. But she tries to trick and manipulate everyone, abusing that power.

Samples:
First Person Sample:  Oh come on, here again? It 8arely gave me any time to even 8e home! You'd think this place would 8e a 8it more creative a8out how it plays with us.

It's kinda 8oring here, just lame old Prospero. Somewhere new would 8e fun. How a8out a Land of Fire and 8om8s? That would 8e a ton of fun to run through with a Persona. Or may8e Land of Water and Ships. Lusus and I would tear that place apart soooooooo fast. ::::)

Or how a8out letting us go home and just get our dum8 God Tier already? ::::(

Third Person Sample: "Oh come on!" Vriska threw aside the Medicine they found. "Laaaaaaaame. Where's all the good treasure? If we're going to go dungeon crawling, there better be some good treasure!"

For all her complaining (and it wasn't just a show. Vriska truly felt ripped off at the lack of good treasure), she knew this was the most fun she was going to have. The usual fighting of Shadows in Prospero's streets had lost its charm in the amount of time she'd been there. She needed more. More adventure, more danger, more fun. More shiny, shiny treasure and weapons. The dungeon was the best she could get, even if she had to go in with a party rather than alone and keep all the good stuff for herself.

Well, she was going to do that anyway. Lusus and Kaoru could go on their own to get it.

Vriska ignored the rest of her party, striding forward. "There better be something good down here," she called down the murky hallway. "Or else I'll be very upset."

Character Info:
Name: V/V
Age: In this body with knowledge and a will, five years or less. As Type-Venus (the strongest being from Venus, sent by the planet to destroy humans), an indeterminate amount of time spent without a will.
Canon: Angel Notes
Pull Point: Before Godo leaves to fight Type-Saturn.

Background Info:
History: A summary. Thanks, TV Tropes. Here's another summary:
-Earth dies. Before it dies, it sends a distress signal.
-Other planets send their strongest beings there to destroy the humans who are still alive.
-This guy named Godo shoots this monstrous thousand-meter-long thing threatening humanity (Type-Venus).
-The corpse of this being is able to support life, and he and most of the rest of humanity live on top of it.
-Five years later, this angel chick (V/V) shows up in Godo's house and decides to become a freeloader.
-Godo later asks what the heck that was about and V/V explains the first two bullet points, as well as how she was created out of Type-Venus's body and everyone's hopes and dreams.
-Godo gets killed in the glossary.
Personality: As a being from Venus who is only now possessed of even the idea of 'knowledge', V/V knows literally nothing. She has to ask what revenge is, cannot cook, clean, or fend for herself, and understands little about the world she's on at first. She gets better at all this in time (although she remains terrible at playing the guitar) but still is heavily innocent.

This is probably because of what she is. As a being comprised of the thoughts of those who live where her corpse landed, she has the appearance of an 'angel' because that's the closest equivalent to what she was on Venus. Since the picture of an angel should be beautiful and innocent, that's the impression she gives. She's very hard to get down even after being thrown out of a window. Her thoughts are simple, but pure-hearted, and she deeply loves humanity and the city built on her body.

She asks many questions about what she doesn't understand (which is a lot), and regards Godo with great affection because he was the one to kill her.

Game Specific:
Arcana: Death
Justification: New chance at life: Type-Venus's corpse is the only place on the Land of Steel that can now naturally support life. V/V herself was given a new life after being killed by the thoughts of the people in the place she landed.
The end of something that has served its purpose: Type-Venus was called to destroy humanity after the Earth reached her natural end and humanity wasn't supposed to outlive her.
Fear of change, a painful transition: the death of the Earth has meant terrible things for the existence of life on the planet. V/V herself now strongly doesn't want humans to die, even though they're doomed.

Samples:
First Person Sample:
This isn't my body. It isn't even the body I had before this body. And the sky is blue and not dark.

I don't know what's going on. Everything is bright, there are plants and animals... It's a wonderful place, but I don't see any A-rays, just people who look like Godo. Are they really all pure humans?

...I wonder what happened to the people living on my body, if I've left. I don't think I know how to dream, so I must have left.

Third Person Sample:
V/V tilts her head to one side as she watches the passerby outside the hotel room. Everything out there is strange and unfamiliar. All of the people are pure humans, with no beastmen and no angel A-rays. The sun is shining; plants are growing naturally on a living planet.

Everyone she asked about it looked at her strangely. It was difficult enough trying to understand the Land of Steel when she was only gaining a consciousness. She now has to wonder how she's going to understand Earth after barely learning about the Land of Steel after just gaining a consciousness.

It looks exciting.

She leaves the door open to her room on the way out. She has no idea what she's doing, but it should be a change from wondering about the fate of humanity.

Application is over here. I'm changing her pull point to the end of the manga, which doesn't change her personality appreciably at all. Everything else is pretty much the same. Additional RP sample can be found under her character tag from the last time she was here.

Is it possible to keep her Persona and levels from before? I had a custom one, so I doubt anyone has taken it in the meantime.

Character Info:
Name: John Egbert
Age: 13
Canon: Homestuck
Pull Point: Act 6 intermission 1, just after throwing the bucket at Karkat

Background Info:
History:
Series- http://mspaintadventures.wikia.com/wiki/Homestuck
Character- http://mspaintadventures.wikia.com/wiki/John_Egbert
Personality:
John Egbert is a huge dork. He's a big fan of terrible movies, constantly arguing the merits of such gems as Con Air, or Little Monsters. He's into supernatural lore as well as stage magic. He even fancies himself a master prankster. John and his father have sort of a contest going on where they prank each other. John is usually on the losing end. And although he dabbles in computer programming, he's terrible at it. Naturally he also has an avid interest in reading web comics and playing video games. And like most thirteen year old boys, is prone to a childish and immature kind of humor. He's also pretty awkward with girls, and is unsure how to deal with Karkat's insistence that John and Rose be a couple, or his emerging feelings for Vriska. Clearly, we are dealing with a paragon of coolness here. Yeah. Not so much.
But, honestly? John doesn't really mind. Cool is Dave's department, and John doesn't lose any sleep over not being the most awesome dude on the block. Actually, there's not much that bothers John at all. Karkat insults him constantly, but John always just laughs it off. They're friends, after all. John is one of those people who decides on his own whether he's friends with someone else, without them getting a say in the matter. Once decided, it's hard to shake him from that opinion. And, for the record, it's not hard to get John to like you. He's the sort of person that lives in the moment, reacting to what's around him in a very honest way. Generally cheerful and optimistic, he doesn't try to hide his emotions. He'll cry when sad, smile when happy, and laugh when you've just done something stupid. But that's okay, he's fine with laughing at himself too. John is also pretty naive. Terezi had no trouble tricking him into skipping to the seventh gate and ultimately getting himself killed. (Luckily the Knight of Time was on the job and prevented that ending.)
So why then, is John the first among the kids to reach God Tier? The first to become a hero? For starters, he's extremely brave. He never hesitates to explore new terrrain as it becomes available, viewing the process as exciting rather than diffcult, scary, or inconvenient as most people would. He faces down countless enemies without a hint of fear. (Although he does get frustrated by the sheer number of imps and the damage they're doing to his house.) Even when facing Bec Noir after seeing the bloody mess that the monster had made of John's father, John's attitude is one of grim determination rather than fear. John is also pretty selfless, willing to go to great lengths to help others, without asking anything in return. He genuinely cared about the welfare of the native inhabitants of the Land of Wind and Shade, even going so far as to adopt one of the younger ones. And the trolls are openly hostile to the the kids at the beginning, but John still wants to help them out. But perhaps what sets John part the most is his optimism. From the time they enter the medium, everyone involved is telling the kids that they've already lost. That their session of the game was glitched from the start. That they can't possibly win. But John never loses hope. He honestly believes, even when no one else does, that they can still pull a victory from the jaws of this defeat. It is this faith that has him still trying when others have given up. This, more than anything, is the reason that the other kids accept him as their leader. The reason he became a hero first.
On a side note, like most homestuck characters, John has a typing quirk.
he tends to use a blue courier font and employs almost no capitalization and sparse punctuation unless its for EMPHASIS!!!!! He'll also employ both common internet slang and emotes. ;) Since meeting vriska, he'll occaaaaaaaasionally copy her quirk of multiplying random vowels or punctuation by eight.
However, this will only show up when he's texting. He talks normally.

Game Specific:
Arcana: Fool
Justification:
John has embarked on a journey of epic, earth shattering proportions with nothing more than his own wits and natural abilities. He winds up discovering vast reserves of courage and power that he never dreamed of having. His innocence and optimism provide inspiration to his friends. He's also prone to impulsive decisions, and so has made a lot of mistakes, wasted a lot of chances, and often fails to accept responsibility.

Samples:
First Person Sample:
[John: Be confused. Be very confused.]
Where is everyone? We all went through the wall together.....
And this doesn't even look like any part of the medium I've seen.
[Unless it's the Land of Darkness and Coffins or something. But that's when the light goes on.]
Oh! I get it! This is like the final stage or something. We must have to beat the boss here to end the game.
[Reaches for his weapon with every intention of brandishing it dramatically.]
....Hey, where's my hammer?
Aww, man! My sylladex too? No faaiir! It was a shitty modus, but it still had all my stuff in it!
Geeeeeez.... This must be the game's hard mode.

Third Person Sample:
Facing his opponent with with a lopsided grin on his face, John raises a hand and calls to his partner.
"You ready, buddy?" In response, his persona appears, ready to help him fight the shadows. John had faced countless smaller imps at home, early in the game, so this was almost nostalgic. He nods at his persona.
"Okay! Do the windy thing! Garu!"
It actually wasn't nearly as powerful as the winds he'd been able to create a the Hero of Breath, but it was still satisfying to watch the whirlwind shred his foes. Man, if this was Sburb, John would be raking in so much grist. And boon dollars. All the boon dollars. Never mind that he's only two levels up into the tower.
"That was awesome! Good job!" He dismisses his persona and keeps an eye out for more enemies. John is pretty sure that he's currently climbing some hidden echeladder somewhere, and it will be so worth it when he reaches the top. He's so lost in his thoughts that he almost doesn't notice the stairs. Another level...
"The enemies up there will probably be tougher. Maybe I should try to get help. "
He mulls is over for a moment before giving a cheerful shrug.
"I'll just take a quick look. If the enemies are too tough, I'll just abscond. No big deal."
And he starts up the stairs. Although a small voice in the back of his head reminds him that they warned him. They told him about stairs....

Character Info:
Name: Irisviel von Einzbern
Age: Body in her twenties, actually nine
Canon: Fate/Zero
>Pull Point: The morning before Irisviel and Saber move to the Japanese house

Background Info:
History: Right here
Personality: Irisviel is a very kind, gentle, innocent woman. When Saber is summoned, she takes Saber in as if she is the Master instead of Kiritsugu, She treats Saber with respect and kindness, acting as her second in battle as she tries to heal all of Saber's wounds during her fight with Lancer. When Kotomine comes to attack, she puts herself into harm's way against him to try and save Kiritsugu. Even her pretending to be Saber's Master is more than being kind to Saber; it's protecting Kiritsugu from those who would try to kill him to take out Saber.

Irisviel also knows only the basics how to defend herself, furthering the fact she is kind and gentle. She doesn't try to hurt anyone, and is in fact horrified when she sees what Kiritsugu did to take out Lancer, Kayneth, and Sola-Ui. She uses wires that she shapes, creating a bird to attack Kotomine and wind around him to immobilize him instead of trying to kill him or hurt him so badly he can't move.

She's very innocent, having been in the Einzbern castle most of her life. Irisviel had been kept away from the world, and in fact would have been completely ignorant of everything in the world if Kiritsugu hadn't entered the picture. As it is, she knows certain things (like how to fight and drive), but it's a very innocent type of knowledge. She knows of to defend herself using very defensive moves, but not how to properly attack and kill. She knows how to handle a car from driving one at the castle, but she doesn't know the rules of the road nor how to drive sensibly, seeing the car and the road like a new toy. She knows that Kiritsugu is a killer, but she's never seen it happen until he takes out Kayneth and Sola-Ui.

Game Specific:
Arcana: Star
Justification: The Star is about calmness, free-flowing love, tranquility, generosity, joy, optimism… perfectly Irisviel

Samples:

First Person Sample: [Suddenly. Video. It looked like someone had dropped the phone, and slim white fingers fumble over it] Oh, oh! How do you use one of these…? [The fingers fumble a bit more, then manage to pick up it, fingers shaking] A light's on… does that mean it's already working? Um, how do they do this… [A woman was looking curiously at the screen, pale face and red eyes framed by long white hair. She carefully brought the phone to her ear] Kiritsugu? Maiya? Are you there? Saber? [She pulled the phone away from her head to look at it, dropping it again in the process] Oh no! [The video turned off as she fumbled with the phone again, making lightly distressed noises as her fingers lack the strength to hold onto the device]

Third Person Sample: It was a tough full moon. Irisviel looked up at the Shadow with determined eyes, her fists clenched. She couldn't really fight it, but that wouldn't stop her from standing with the rest of the inhabitants of Prospero. She could help with her Persona, try to lead other smaller Shadows away from the fighters so they wouldn't get hurt. Heal those that were hurt.

This was something she could do for all of Prospero. Irisviel tensed as the Shadow started attacking, wishing for her wires again. She could bind the Shadow for a bit, to help out. But not having them would be okay. She clasped her hands together, concentrating to feel the movement of her Persona within her. The power she could use to bring it forth, to fight in the way she could. She wasn't helpless.

She would make Kiritsugu proud.

Madoka Kugimiya | Negima | Re-app

Player Info:
Nickname: Jordan or Dori (short for Dori-mingu)
Age: 31
Personal Journal: [personal profile] akailv
Method of Contact: [AIM] akaiLV [plurk.com profile] dori_mingu
Characters Played: Formally Madoka @ TVK, a few @ Mayfield

Character Info:
Name: Madoka Kugimiya
Age: 16
Canon: Negima! Magister Negi Magi
Pull Point: Same as before, toward the end of the Magical World arc, before the cheerleaders return to Mahora from Wales

Background Info:
History: A bit of history about Madoka
Personality: Madoka may not really look it, but she really does exemplify the very core idea of a cheerleader. While Sakurako brings the bubbly enthusiasm and Misa the beauty and sexiness, it's Madoka who brings the most important part of any cheering team: supporting others. Whether it's in life, love, or games, Madoka is quick to push her friends to go for it and provide not only the words of encouragement they may need, but any help she can give to see that they succeed. Maybe because of this seriousness or willingness to help others, Madoka comes off as the more level headed and responsible of the cheer-leading team. In a way, this usually makes her the straight man in any of the cheer team's shenanigans, or her job to keep Misa and Sakurako out of trouble. Not that she doesn't like to cause trouble herself though, as sometimes supporting your friends may mean you have to push them to do things they're too embarrassed to do themselves.

Even so, Madoka cares very much for her friends and is extremely protective of them. She's even been known to slap someone (or punch if the slap was blocked) when she felt they caused her friends to cry. All in all, Madoka is a strong girl who looks out for her friends and enjoys being a supportive character. While she enjoys music and cheering, she doesn't feel too secure about being the center of attention, what with her feelings about her husky voice or boyish looks when compared to Misa and Sakurako. Still, that doesn't keep her from creating a band with her friends so they can sing and dance for others. Which just goes to show she's willing to do anything for her friends.

Game Specific:
Arcana: Strength
Justification: While a minor character in her canon, Madoka exemplifies strength and is a source of it for her friends. She is fiercely protective of her friends, ready to intercede on their behalf while at the same time providing the support and encouragement they need to reach for their dreams. Her willingness to help and tenacity to see it through show the qualities of generosity and fortitude typical of Strength in the upright position. On the negative side, her scheming and forceful nature of pushing her friends onward show the tyrannical and immoral impulses of the card inverted. As well as her complex about her voice and looks fitting the pessimism and inadequacy of an inverted Strength.

Nickname: Jordan
Age: 31
Personal LJ/DW: [personal profile] akailv
Method of Contact:[AIM] akaiLV [plurk.com profile] dori_mingu
Characters Played: Formally Madoka @ TVK, a few @ Mayfield

Character Info:
Name: Applejack
Age: There isn't a specific age given, but Applejack seems rather mature and acts older than most of the other characters. I'd estimate she'd be in her late 20s, like 25 or 28 as a human.
Canon: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Pull Point: From the end of the second season, shortly after the Royal Wedding.

Background Info:
History: Applejack's history
Personality:
Honest, reliable, and hard-working. That's Applejack in a nutshell and she doesn't really mind it all.

She's believes in honesty and fairness, almost to a fault as she can be pretty blunt or when she needs to keep a secret (she doesn't have much of a poker face). Because of this though, she is very straightforward and trustworthy, even able to convince Twilight when she was hanging from a cliff that all she had to do was let go and she'd be safe. On the other hoof, she expects that same sort of honesty and fairness from others, and can get pretty ill-tempered when others cheat, like how upset she got at Rainbow Dash during the Iron Pony competition.

She's very hard-working, caring for her family's farm and orchard with only some help from her brother as well as running the business of selling the apples. She does this all so as to provide for her family who she deeply cares about. She's very protective of her younger sister Apple Bloom, and likes to keep an eye on her, knowing how much she can get into trouble. While this may at times leave Apple Bloom feeling overprotected, it does show how caring Applejack is, to the point that even when AJ was shrunk down to the size of a mouse, she still chased after Apple Bloom to "rescue" her.

She is glad people consider her reliable, and is always ready to lend a hoof if she can to her friends, families, and others. But again, she might take this too far and bite off more than she can chew, as shown in one episode where she tries to harvest all the apples in her orchard herself while still helping her friends with small tasks at the same time. This in a way shows the other side of her personality, her pride and stubbornness. She was working herself to death, exhausted, and falling asleep standing up, and yet she still wouldn't accept help until the very end. This isn't the only time her pride and stubbornness have caused trouble though, as when she was trying to negotiate between the Buffalo and Settler ponies of Appleloosa, she escalated the tension because she felt they were "right."

All in all, Applejack is a strong, honest friend who's toughest critic might be herself. She's confident in her abilities and proud of the way she does things. And while at times these beliefs might cause her trouble, she is always first to realize her mistakes and apologize or make amends for it. As such, this gives her a more mature, older sister personality to other ponies, which she is happy to be.

Game Specific:
Arcana: Temperance
Justification: Applejack is a balanced and straightforward pony, one who is always there to offer help and suggestions to any situations. Her nurturing nature, her belief in fairness, and optimism are all traits of Temperance in the upright position. Meanwhile, her pride in doing things one specific way, looking down on ways she sees ineffective, or how much she hates to hold still when she can take a hooves on approach are aspects of an inverted Temperance.

Samples:
First Person Sample: A Dear_mun post.
Third Person Sample: Here's one, and as a human too!
A lot of other samples I could give for Applejack would be found on Mayfield under her character tag.

Character Info:
Name: Hippocrates
Age: 12
Canon: Original Character (tm)
Pull Point: Before any actively interesting things happen (Pre-AS canon.)

Background Info:
History:
Link.

Appearance: because this is important and doesn't fit in Personality well
Hippocrates is a young kid of around 12, but has begun his way into becoming a teenager already, his voice not the squeaky one might expect from an 12 year old, but a somewhat deeper one that's still somewhat squeaky but hard to tell apart from a transitioning teen's voice. As well, he's grown to be lanky and 5'1-2" through the magic of growth spurts - and as such, can be really easily mistaken as a transitioning teen, for certain. He typically holds himself to a standard of kind formality that means he tends to stand up completely straight, and it's rare that he slouches unless outright exhausted. He has a color theme of dark olive-to-forest greens; dark green eyes, as well as a v-neck and t-shirt underneath, for practicality - he can take off the v-neck, should it get blood on it from handling a patient. (If you hadn't guessed, he typically doesn't wear formal doctor wear unless preforming medical procedure.) He avoids wearing shorts in favor of long pants, and typically wears sandals instead of closed toe shoes, more out of habit then any conscious decision. After all, they're very easy to take off. His hair is back and shaggy, and it's atypical that it ever gets styles - he prefers it messy and most likely wouldn't even style it for a formal event.

Personality:
Hippocrates does not act like one would expect an 12 year old to. This isn't because he's some whimsical sort of 2000 year old in a young child's body; rather, Hippocrates has been forced to grow up very quickly, simply because of his profession and how his world works. However, it's worth noting that he's been somewhat stunted because of this; he has some trust issues, doesn't understand how to treat adults (although this is greatly offset by the fact that he's kind and polite to everyone), and in general is still emotionally a kid, even if he disguises it with a mixture of his manner and his knowledge. He doesn't appreciate being looked down upon for his child status, due to the fact that he never got that sort of treatment in Gallifrey, and will heavily object to any attempts to reason that 'YOU ARE A CHILD THUS YOU SHOULD NOT FIGHT/WORK/ETC, AND INSTEAD GO TO SCHOOL'. Hippocrates knows things - he's learned everything he knows from books. As such, he's an expert about medicine, though he specifically believes in the teachings of his original self, Hippocrates, knows quite a bit of latin due to medical terminology, and is an expert at English - he has a huge vocabulary that severely outpaces many kids his age, which is a given, since he reads complex texts and comes out with full comprehension. He knows basic math, but doesn't care very much about more complex forms of it - just enough to manage his own funds and the hospital's paperwork. He knows point blank nothing about trig, calculus, or even geometry - only basic maths and some bits and pieces of algebra.

Hippocrates' firm belief in and reliance on his original self's teachings - Hippocratic medicine, as it's simply put - has manifested itself as him having a perpetual 'bedside manner'. Hippocratic medicine tells a doctor to be kind, gentle, and to keep the patient relaxed and rested. These are things that Hippocrates has taken firmly to heart in his bedside manner; much of the time that he talks to people, he tries to emulate those teachings. As such, Hippocrates has picked up the bad habit of withholding bad news - he won't reveal things that he knows will worry people unless he feels it's absolutely necessary. He's also picked up some bad habits that don't fit in with the concept of Hippocratic medicine, as well. In a world full of young violence and super strong patients, he's learned very quickly that if people won't see eye-to-eye with him, it's best to force them to do what he says. This wouldn't be a problem if he didn't, from his amount of medical knowledge, know vital pressure points to force people to (relatively peacefully) do as he says. He reasons it as being the 'lesser of two evils', the other being the patient running around like an idiot and getting themselves hurt worse. Hippocrates is still a frail young guy, for certain, and he really isn't tall enough to do this to adults as well as he can other kids. Still, he's very much aware of anatomical pressure points, and has a habit of forcing his way if it's "for the good of their health". As a side note, he's not very good at delivering jokes, notably, and prefers sarcasm if he needs a way to cheer someone up. Something to keep in mind is that, despite his deviation from Hippocratic properness, he cares about the wellbeing of everyone he knows even slightly personally and can put himself in danger in order to protect them at the drop of a hat - especially if it's his fault they're being attacked at all. Given that he's a frail 12 year old who focuses more on finesse then any sort of resistance to damage... this can end very poorly.

However, the idea that he'll force things with violence helps to explain Hippocrates' personality under the demeanor he puts up - he's very much an emotional child, and while he tries to restrain himself from emotional outbursts, he's very capable of tears or rages - although he'll never do a 'no good reason' tantrum. He's heavily driven to complete his goals, and the frustration that comes from failing to complete them - or be stopped from doing so - can provoke him like no tomorrow. He does try and be an adult and verbalize his problems, but if he's not convinced to stop then he just plain'll react with the polite equivalent of 'Won't stop, can't stop". If you're being an obstacle and won't listen to what he's trying to say, he will flat out ignore you and do it anyway. In the same vein, he has a list of "what dos" to follow in the face of adversity - one, talk. Two, go around. Three, fight it. Generally he won't approach the third unless there's any other option, but sometimes he'll have the tendency to make a shortcut right to it - for example, if he feels as though someone won't listen to reason about their injuries, he'll make an effort to outright knock them out via his anatomical knowledge so that he can force treatment. On an entirely different note, Hippocrates is incredibly hard to insult while in his bedside manner, and sometimes even out of it. He has no attachment to his gender or concept of what's manly or feminine, due to many of his friends being way outside those roles, and won't understand shots at his manliness or femininity. He also generally doesn't hold insults against people, especially if they're really shitty ones that are obviously not at all thought out, and would only ever really be provoked if he was already frustrated/pissed/etcetera. He's had 11-12 year old kids sling terrible insults at him when he incapacitates them and ties them to their beds. He's not phazed by this point.

All in all, Hippocrates is a young man with a sophisticated form of speaking and writing, a body and mind that don't agree with his actual age at all, and a very childish way of reacting to things in the way of getting what he wants under a shell of maturity, kindness, and properness. Some random notes would be that he definitely does play the part of mature, but defuses the pompous air he'd generate otherwise by leaving his hair messy and his clothing relatively casual. He's got a thing for sweets, no matter how childish he thinks that is, and is way happy to get his hands on anything sweet. He hates being treated like a burden or some kind of weakling just because he's a kid, and will do everything in his power to avoid being treated that way. Generally, in combat, he prefers long range weapons, with a preference towards crossbows, those being the ones he knows well - though he's a pro with a properly sharp scalpel.

Game Specific:
Arcana: Empress
Justification:
There are multiple parts to the Empress arcana, as properly detailed here.

Hippocrates' personality expresses many of them, and as time goes on, through character development, may grow to express even more of these qualities. His heavy focus on the natural side of growth and cures due to his belief in Hippocratic medicine is in touch with the Empress's association with nature at work; he believes heavily in health (being a doctor) and understanding and caring for all other people within his power. Similarly, when enraged, he tends to become a force to be reckoned with: a young child's furious, sometimes unreasonable form of response when properly aggravated. Many of the traits he might develop in growth would be mothering, abundance, understanding of the value of senses shared amongst people - all things he lacks but has the potential to grow into.

Samples:
First Person Sample:
[There's a young man who looks to be about 13-14 on the screen, giving a slightly confused, pretty formal look! Say hi, everyone.]
Does, perhaps, anyone have proper information on where I am and what is going on at the moment?
Better yet, does anyone know of a world called Humanitas?

[He looks like he dislikes even saying the name. He gets the joke and it's not funny, world namers. :|]

Whether or not you do, my name is Hippocrates, and I appear to be in a strange room of what I must assume is a hotel, and have found an envelope with a key and a card inside.

[Excuse him, raising up the envelope before setting it down and lifting up the key and his card to be properly viewed.]

Thank you for any help you can provide.

[He gives a small, polite smile before he goes to set down the key and card and switch off the display. he doesn't know anyone here how does he interact fdsa]

Third Person Sample:
It took Hippocrates a few seconds to realize that he wasn't in his normal bed.

It only took himself flinging himself out of bed and stepping towards the window to realize he wasn't exactly in Kansas anymore.

In processing that he was in an incredibly unfamiliar place that couldn't even remotely exist on his world, he also successfully processed the people who were most definitely not 12 walking along the streets. That was most definitely new. He quietly took a step back from the window - quickly closing the curtain in the process - before turning back and beginning to take in the room itself. It had little to nothing in it, except... a strange envelope. This impromptu discovery led to the tearing open of an envelope and him examining the contents with a curiousity that he'd probably only lose with age. He flipped the card over in his hands before settling it down onto the ripped open envelope. He could find someone to ask about that later. Probably. He'd seen people, after all.

It was at that point that he took inventory of himself. He was in casual clothes - despite remembering putting on pajamas - and a quick search of himself turned up absolutely nothing that he remembered. He didn't even have the wallet he'd gotten a while back, after his "father" was exiled, to keep track of his identification and funds. What a load of crap.

However, what did turn up was equally confusing as hell. He'd suddenly found himself with a phone he didn't even remember having, with a contact list that consisted of basically nobody he knew, with several applications he didn't even remotely comprehend the meaning of. However, there were a lot of things to push and look at.

And so, he did what came naturally to a young guy like him.

He fiddled.
